I don't get how Volkan is the 6th ranked LHW after his exciting and close win over OSP (which was his UFC debut, by the way). OSP was coming off that disappointing loss to Jones and crushing KO to Manuwa, so the fact that OSP was ranked at #6 going into that fight with one win since 2015 against Feijao was weird to me.

I guess it's that he came in and beat the #6 guy so he in turn became the #6 guy, but still...doesn't feel right. Volkan still doesn't have a wikipedia page.

While not taking damage in fights obviously helps, that many training camps will catch up to most eventually. Maybe Mousasy is a freak of nature, we'll see.
Spot on re: training camps.

Shogun is over the hill and could actually get a title shot if he wins his next fight

I am experienced in dealing with the traumatic shitshow that is the LHW division, but I still threw up looking at those rankings.

lotta training for sure...it shows in his technique and poise

but he seems as fresh as a 20 year old...I think he is doing it right and taking care himself

and the crazy part is he has a punchers chance against anyone...he is easy to beat if you get to him first now...but you have to avoid the right hand of death from deep Brazil

Was just about to post that after reading the thread.
Would make sense for Rockhold or similar to move up, even as a one off.
Bellator has a better top 5 imo currently

LHW has been declining for years and its always been one od the weaker divisions, which is a shame because its a division Iike. Its decent when you add everyone else outside the UFC, but the UFC division alone is aging and several of the best guys have gone elsewhere.

MW is the deepest it's ever been, and there's a ton of talent between 170 and 135.
MW is aging though. Most of the top 10 are at very minimum early 30s. Half of the top 10 are 40 or will in a couple of years. Weidman is also on a 3 fight losing streak and isnt Rock considering hanging it up to become a model?

Not good.

Nope. It's certainly not as far off as it once was but with Bones and DC at the top I can't put Bellator above them.

Bones, DC, Gus, Glover, Shogun

Davis, Bader, McGeary, Mo, Vassell?

I guess that's their 3-5
