So is America gonna have to save the site from trolls too?Ye see if ignoring problems worked WW2 wouldn't have happened, better to tackle it with overt mocking.
TMMAC needs a dose of Democracy. So is America gonna have to save the site from trolls too?
great now canada is going to have to send in the peace keepers and sort this mess out againSo is America gonna have to save the site from trolls too?
Lovely stuff. So is America gonna have to save the site from trolls too?
I love youI'm not actually irritated by it, I'm more than capable of torpedoing those threads for fun, plus I love a scrap. I don't often bother, unless it's been gathering momentum. We have a large amount of passive aggressive hater sliding in and it's lowering the tone frankly. I have no problem with debate but "fuck them" echo chambers are silly.
The ignore function does work. I think letting it go at that point like you said is the best thing. Try to be mature and treat others with respect. If they don't reciprocate, fuck 'em.I think there's some trolls here. These people create threads about race, religion, politics (hot topics) & then sit back and wait for the shitstorm because they know we have some here that are drawn to those topics, like a moth to a flame. And we have some that can't, not respond. And we have some that can't control themselves when discussing these topics.
I also think there's some people that enjoy drama here. These people usually enter those topics ^^^, instead of avoiding them.
I think there are some that complain about all of that ^^^, that could avoid most of it by simply 1) using the ignore feature, or 2) refusing to respond to trolls, personal attacks, etc
I think there are some that complain about all of that ^^^ but will be all over our ass if we start banning people, locking threads, etc. Accusing us of censorship, lack of transparency, etc.
I think there's some people that talk shit about wanting a forum for respectful discussion, but they don't want that at all, because they're guilty of name calling, baiting, personal attacks, etc as well.
I dont think we're letting the site become "ruined". I think this stupid shit it pretty well confined to Off Topic, and could be immediately resolved by the parties involved. The trolls could stop trolling. People could stop responding to trolls or use the ignore feature (trolls dont troll where they don't get a reaction...they either stop or move on). People could stop name calling, making personal attacks, etc. If someone is called a name or personally attacked, they could use the report button instead of reacting poorly themselves. Etc, etc, etc.
Why should I spend 16-18 hrs a day chasing people around Off Topic to babysit? People have to become part of the solution first, if they want things to change.
"Fuck them we're rubbing our hate boners together."
what's your original SNSo many wank posts....So much bickering...Lot's of UG behavior and abusing.
Get fucked cunts...Please lord don't let us ruin this place like the fuckers at the other place.
Much Respect.
Let's not ruin a great thing.
@nick diaz nut hugger
Mah negro
Or you know, you could follow them around carpet bombing them with rainbows like nut hugger does to me.The ignore function does work. I think letting it go at that point like you said is the best thing. Try to be mature and treat others with respect. If they don't reciprocate, fuck 'em.![]()
I agree that its not easy for the admins, and you probably worry about overall activity as well. After all, these posters do bring some value too and the line is blurry. Well said. But this community belongs to all of you.
Defend it.
I hear ya brother and I'm not trying to just blow people off w/ "ignore it". I'm just trying to get members to take more ownership of the forums, and suggest ways that they can correct a lot of these issues themselves. Like kneeblock said...defend it.I agree that its not easy for the admins, and you probably worry about overall activity as well. But I think the ignore-argument or telling people not to go in those threads is a bit misguided.
The ignore-function is a good function for some people, but not all. I want to be free of such crap and move around freely here. Nobody is going to convince me that I should go out of my way to avoid stuff when I am not the perpetrator. And I can't be the only one thinking like that.
Its a similar (albeit much less serious ofc) argument to telling women to put on more clothes or people to not go into this or that neighbourhood. It doesn't have to be like that here imho.
Against no-go-zones on TMMAC!
Well said.
You are not.Nobody is going to convince me that I should go out of my way to avoid stuff when I am not the perpetrator. And I can't be the only one thinking like that.
I already told you I won't be a mod againI hear ya brother and I'm not trying to just blow people off w/ "ignore it". I'm just trying to get members to take more ownership of the forums, and suggest ways that they can correct a lot of these issues themselves. Like kneeblock said...defend it.
That said, we're in the process of unveiling a couple surprises that will significantly help us better moderate the forums, while cleaning up Off Topic in the process. Stay tuned![]()
