Bellator MMA’s investment in blue-chip prospects in recent years is already beginning to pay dividends.

Aaron Pico is well on his way to becoming a next-generation star; Dillon Danis, love him or hate him, brings the promotion plenty of attention; and others like A.J. McKee are well on their way to becoming standout pros.

The latest in Bellator’s long line of top-notch signings from the wrestling and grappling worlds came on Monday with the news jiu-jitsu competitor A.J. Agazarm has signed with the promotion. MMA Fighting confirmed after Agazarm announced the news on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show.

The Gracie-Barra black belt from Los Angeles by way of Florida boasts an impressive set of credentials, including the IBJJF world no-gi championship in 2014 and a second-place ADCC finish in 2014. He also boasts a collegiate wrestling background, having competed at Ohio State University.

Agazarm has been seen around Los Angeles training with notable names in the MMA world in recent months, including Nick Diaz.

Yeah, but so is Danis. And they're talented. If you can get the right mix of talented/disposed, you can draw big numbers from people tuning in to see you get KTFO.
Somehow Danis doesn't bother me as much.

AJ is more the Colby kind of cunt where i just want them to go away.

Interesting pick up, AJ has been criticized for being a boring, safe style grappler in BJJ.... He relied on his wrestling base and top position to win a lot of matches (by advantage points in the IBJJF scene).... However, that style may suit him well in MMA, taking guys down, passing the guard, GnP (or LnP) to wins.

And since he's been hanging out/training with Nick Diaz for a little over a year now, hopefully his striking has developed to the point of helping him set up his takedowns.... Time will tell
