Oh I get what you're saying, but unfortunately that's not how it works. Filed for coke, no, but was it handled poorly, yes. But the dui and hit an run as one of the public faces of the company, yea he should be punished, but not banned or even let go..... I donno
The fundamental difference in opinion is that I don't subscribe to the UFC as being a sports league like they want you to believe when it convenient to their public relations.

Every Corp I've worked for doesn't get involved in your private life unless your activities affect your job responsibilities i.e. Coming into work high as Cootie Brown and attempting to fly a plane. Working with money and being convicted of a theft or breach of trust etc.

A fine is a bullshit PR move that is meaningless.

His first dui was a misdemeanor charge as well.
Oh I know it's misdemeanor, what I assume is that multiple reckless driving charges (more or less) would have a more severe compounding view in a State like New York than NM on philosophy around the DUI offence and the potential for more here, but I mean I could be wrong.

He would've just had a really high fine, probation & probably a revocation of his license if that. He was smart to run away rather than stay at the scene if he was drunk or high.

Dana was in the court room as well. I'm sure he's giving Jones some brain on the way to the Free At Last Party. Bet your ass Zuffa puts him in with the DC/Gus winner around Jan/Feb.

He deserved to do jail time. I know people that have done jail time for less serious infractions.

I remember that. It was right after he quit fighting ten seconds before the fight was over then kept watching and threw a sucker punch at DC as soon as he let his defenses down.

Does anyone have the gif of that? I saw it the following day but haven't seen it since.

Probably the most savage shit I have seen in the octagon.
Choke someone the fuck out.
Drop them like a sack of potatoes.
Walk away like it is was no big deal.

One of the most unsportsmanlike things I've seen in the octagon but to each their own.

The code of conduct policy is and has always been a joke.

But in this particular instance, it seems irrelevant. A fine would just enrich the UFC and probably get tacked back on in bonuses after his next fight. A suspension would probably be considered concurrent with his current suspension/title strip. If the court isn't going to take further action, this is over except for the civil trial that will doubtless compel Jones to fight a lot more frequently to pay off.

I'm pretty sure dragging your personal image through the mud effects your job responsibilities when part of your job is selling public interest in yourself.

I had to do 50 fucking hours of community service and 3 months probation for unknowingly driving on a suspended license due to an unpaid speeding ticket. Jonny Law ain't fair.

I say he settles for several thousand unless she's going to try for the extremely greedy money grab. She should take 50k and be happy

With Zuffa? LOL the more he's hated the happier they are. When has a JBJ fight sold poorly? His personal sponsorship for sure suffered but that's it. When he fights again you think nobody is going to tune in or will this be his best draw to date?

Jones v Glover at 350k wasn't exactly anything to write home about. No doubt he'll do big numbers in a return rematch against Cormier or Gus though. However squeaky clean images let you become a favorite of kids. That lets you into their parents wallets. It's a big reason GSP is the ppv runner up, second to the only guy who had legitimate, full on international crossover appeal.

3.Conor.....for now
It's actually Rousey at #3. I don't think I believe the numbers Zuffa is currently putting out though. They went from their worst year ever, to some of their best ever numbers with people whom aren't as well known as the ones they're allegedly running down.

When I got a DUI I had to spend 2 days in jail. I had an out taillight and got pulled over and compleyed fully. Definitely didn't flee the scene and I didn't smash into a car and injure a female.

Lost my license for a year and had to walk to work 4 miles to work at 3am every morning.

It fucking sucked but I learned my lesson and I would never do that again.

Jones got off way too light. I hope he has learned his lesson like I did however. After 2 crashes where cars were totaled and a pregnant woman were injured you would think there would be some sort of accountability.

I just hope he straintens himself out. Most people don't get that kind of leeway. Looking forward to Jones vs DC regardless

DC is touted as being an upstanding person, in spite of the rumors of adultery, we want him to stay champ?
Gus seems like a quiet, calm fella. Now. His history of being a convicted violent criminal who served jail time
doesn't seem to dull his blonde, blue eyed? appeal to Zuffa nor fans. I don't see anyone mentioning his criminal past at
every turn an in every interview. Guess his shit doesn't count, only Jones' indiscretions do.
