Following a review of the plea agreement reached by Jon Jones and officials in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the judge’s decision, UFC announced today the formal reinstatement of Jones to the UFC roster. Effectively immediately, Jones is eligible to return to competition. As such, UFC expects Jones to meet all of the terms of his plea agreement, including mandatory community service, as a condition of his reinstatement.

UFC is currently discussing with Jones a potential date for his return to the Octagon.

“We've made it clear to Jon that this new opportunity to compete in UFC is a privilege and not a right, and that there are significant expectations we have regarding his conduct moving forward," said UFC Chairman and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta. “We’re happy to read and see reports that he has embraced the terms of his plea agreement and is using this experience to grow and develop as a person.”

“I am thankful to be able to do what I love once again and I look forward to proving myself as a champion in and outside of the Octagon,” Jones said.

Perfect!

Jon Jones the undisputed #1 G.O.A.T

He's whipping DC, he's whipping Gus, he's whipping Rumble.

He's smashing up everyone, maybe even Werdum if he wants some...

Superbowl weekend for cormier/Jones?
Cormier said he needs some time off. Word on the street is that he will be in a walking boot for around 7 weeks. Look for this to happen at MSG in April if the UFC is successful with their lawsuit. Cormier can say he wont fight Jon there, but he is likely posturing for a bigger purse.

He did finish Rumble, I'll give you that. Seriously though, he's the most dominant champ since GSP, and it'll be good to see him back. Yes, I left out Ronda and Mighty Mouse because their divisions lack any depth of talent.

I still think he's moving to heavyweight, which would put a spotlight back on that division in way that hasn't been seen since Brock was champ (pre-diverticulitis), and before that going back to prime Fedor, Nog, and Crocop in Pride.

The HW division is in disarray, guys like Arlovski are back in the picture somehow. Great time for Jonny Jones to move up and take the belt.

I can't imagine Jones stepping into the octagon as the challenger and not the champ. They should take the belt off Cormier, give it to Jones and make Cormier fight the real champ who never lost his belt in the first place.

I have mixed feelings for this. Zuffa smashes guys who piss hot for weed but Jones got no where near what they got for far worse.

Yeah...ok. It's his own fault and only his fault. He gets to walk right back into a title shot anyway. His punishment meant nothing. If he gets the belt back, the only shitty thing for him is the # of title defenses gets set back to zero. I'd say he came out pretty good in the grand scheme of things.
