Jon Jones recently edged out a split decision win over Thiago Santos at UFC 239 to defend his light heavyweight title but, despite Santos being ‘Bone’s’ toughest challenge to date, there’s been little to no buzz over an immediate rematch.

The lack of interest likely stems from the fact that, although UFC 239 was Jones’ toughest title defense to date, it was also the most boring title fight in recent memory, with neither Jones nor Santos committing to a finish at any point throughout the contest.

With that said, Jones is open to a rematch with Santos after the Brazilian slugger recovers from injury...

Santos' knee recovery is going to take 6 months minimum, and then he'll need 3 months for a camp, so this fight wouldn't happen for at least 9 months...more than like, a year. Bet he fights Reyes next, if Reyes beats Weidman.

The rematch needs to happen but why immediately? Both should fight again and if they win then rematch.immediate rematch should only be for special cases.it slows the division down.no one wants to go thru that cain vs jds era again

knee won't be right for awhile if ever
jones needs to keep fighting every 3- 4 months until the license to cheat expires or the out of ring stuff derails him

he's got his hands full dealing with Chris Weidman's lhw campaign, too soon to think about rematches.

Wasn't boring for me.
Santos threw 50 bombs that if connected would've finished the fight.
He pushed forward many times on a destroyed leg to the best of his ability.
I disagree with this guys' assessment.

I though Rockhold was going to dethrone JBJ?

He was on pace to claim the crown as King of Douchebags, but JBJ has taken it to a new level. No one could have anticipated the breadth or depth that Bones possesses.

Agree, but tbh no one in their right mind would have bothered wasting their time watching Saturday's main event.

But I really don't think Dana wants that jones/thiago rematch to happen, he avoids Braso's who can hardly speak English as champs at all cost. I thought thiago won, and anyone with half a brain saw it was a close fight and the way danus was talking about how dominant Jones was implies he's trying to sweep that fight under the rug and wants everyone to forgot it ever happened.
