Jones 'would prefer any other referee' besides BJM

Yea I actually agree with that. He dont know everything. His copper background comes through, the job not the metal.

I am also a Jones supporter. But I am against poking people in the eye more than I am a Jones supporter. Changing the referee is not the answer.

Big John can be a bit bossy at times, but he's still the best ref. We all know Jones history with eye pokes. Of course he don't want Big John reffing because he will continually be telling Jon to close his hands. While sticking an open hand out is not against the rules, I think it's good that BJM reminds people to close the hands. I wouldn't call Jones a dirty fighter, but he toes the line of it. Sticking his fingers out definitely gives him an advantage. I'm sure with his history of eye pokes other fighters get tentative when they see those daggers in their face. In my opinion you may not be able to force him to close his hands, but you can damn sure tell him that one poke may be accidental, but after that it's gonna cost some points.

BJM is the man,it's his job to control the fighters.He try's to keep the fight moving along.Fighter safety is number one priority.He screws up,he is human.Eye pokes are bad ,bad and very bad.He is a vocal ref and is very vocal about eye pokes.Scratched eyes are bad especially from a big boy like Bones.Love the vids posted of the eye pokes.They tell the story.Suck it up Bones and go get your belt back.

I remember vitor trying to kick his head off when he came out on all fours like he's known to do. He dodged the kick then looked at big John and big John said something like "you're just playing the game, now fight"... Something like that at least.

Jones is a dirty fighter and this fight needs a ref that knows what he's looking at and takes no bullshit.

"You wanna play the game" was the line. at the time I still foolishly "hated" Jones and thought it was the most badass thing ever but ever since I bowed down to Teflon Jon.

but this thing now is extremely weak sauce from such a ruthless fighter. just fight.

Reminds me of the advice never to piss off someone who serves you food as they'll probably spit in it.

Referees are human and to openly criticise one before a fight is stupid by Jon. Can easily end up with less leeway than Cormier as a result.
