Justin Gaethje suspended

It's an excuse to start punishing guys for that flip, I assume they aren't capable enough to actually create a fine for "Dangerous actions" or whatever.

I get why they don't like them doing that, I think we've seen a video of a minor leaguer getting injured, personally I don't care, but I get why the commission and/or promotions don't want it.

But to suspend and call it unsportsmanlike is stretching it to punish inaccurately out of spite.

If they said don't do it, and he did, then tough titty, eat the suspension.

If it was in the fine print and he didn't read, well, suck it up and learn to read the fine print.

You at some point someone will break their neck. then everyone will cry about how we should have done something.

I agree with this sentiment, but suspension is just a harsh penalty. A substantial fine probably would've worked better.

If we allow this reckless behavior off a cage, what would be next? Fighting inside it?

Sure, because no bad press can come off of a fighter breaking their neck in their cage. Of course if they did break their neck, no fighter would ever think about suing the promotion. No sir, not in the good ole US of A! Try getting promotional insurance then as a fledgling promotion then because everyone knows insurance is cheap for fight promoters and that medical costs in the USA are free to everyone.

I'm no media guy, so I don't know jack, but I have heard there is no such thing as bad press so I guess you're probably correct. And I think you're also correct that no fighter who is crazy enough to jump off the fence then break their own neck when specified in rules to not do so, would be crazy enough to waste money on a lawsuit. I guess I'll go ahead and side with you on those.

I think I'll pass on trying to get promotional insurance as a fledging promotion. Seems like a lot of work. And I'm not sure, but insurance has always been kind of expensive in the good old USA. Can I get the number of your insurance agent?
