Most homeless are mentally ill to downright crazy, junkies. Add in the criminal component and they would do pretty much anything for twenty bucks and drugs. So could they be prompted to do it, sure. But I think some do it free of charge, sort of like a copy cat crime, just to enjoy seeing the destruction to offset a miserable existence. They also set off fires all the time just due to their outdoor squalid living conditions.

If the homeless are being recruited to burn down Cali who is recruiting them and why? Imo, someone wants to buy up all that land, cheap. Someone very powerful.
It would probably be a nightmare to buy that land with CA bureaucracy.they wouldn't rebuild for at least 5 years this would only make sense to a chinese builder or someone from the U.A.E. maybe even the son of a mexican drug lord to launder money as their kids are usually u.s citizens.

I was guessing China but that cartel scheme sounds good, too.

Also, as I mentioned before the downed brush and standing dead trees make no sense to me. Is there any reason why they leave that garbage there sitting waiting to cause utter destruction? I am guessing it's some blue collar all trees matter bs but specifically what? Thanks.

Newsom is talking about suspending all the Coastal Commission, and incredibly time consuming and costly environmental impact studies so that people can rebuild quickly.

But environmentalists are going to sue the fuck out of him to stop that.

Liberal twitter is angry is angry with Rick Caruso for having private firefighters on scene to save his shopping center. Even though video and photos show those firefighters were using water tenders they brought, the libs are screaming that he stole public water.

Also, everyone who wants to rebuild is basically at a total loss correct? They pay 100% out of pocket to rebuild on their scorched earth?

Newsom may have screwed the pooch on preparedness. But these are rich people. He's going to cut every corner and step on every left-wing interest group to do what he can for them.

We need a resident cartoon guy.
Specifically to draw a caricature of US news, entertainment & sports running & walking over North Carolina, Tennessee & Lahaina to donate to a handful of rich millionaires under Gavin Newsome's self-promulgated multibillion dollar economy.

Who was that OG guy?
Epic Thread...

The problem is that many of these homes date back to the early 1900s. I think most in Pacific Palisades were built before 1940. They were designed by top architects and had all sorts of hand-crafted built-in bookshelves and stuff like that. They can build new homes but not like that.

And they all have the same prepaid phones. They also have criminal backgrounds and fear they may soon be deported. I think it is not random especially at this magnitude.

If they let people rebuild it'll probably not be that hard to rebuild similar to what you had but of course people will be opportunists and try and get permission to build 2x as big and that will be difficult.

They might not let people rebuild and use it as opportunity to redevelop the region.
