Leslie Smith no longer with the UFC; paid show and win in AC for last fight on contract

Boss move by the UFC. She's trying to hurt the company & the consumer experience would suffer if she gets her way.

Before the white knights flame me, Leslie was kicked out of her previous fighters association because she is not trustworthy, according to Jon Fitch.

Leslie Smith: "The UFC refuses to promote me."

UFC: "We would be happy to promote you.... right to the front of the unemployment line."

If Leslie Smith gets her wish (Project Spermhead), fighters would collectively bargain so more fights will get canceled.
Our experience as consumers will suffer.

Fighters will be pulling out of fights more often, probably guaranteed win & show - so why fight? Collect that paper & not get banged up.

Safe to assume you’re also against weight classes and drug testing as well?

Why do you post tweets from nobodies as if the tweets are relevant?

odd precident to set

now you can miss weight and the pressure shifts to the fighter who made weight and heat is on them

I bet leslie asked for a pay bump to fight and didn't get it and they cutting ties

wonder if she has legal grounds to sue in some way or another(doubtful knowing WME has good lawyers)

She had 1 fight left on her contract.

She chose not to fight but she accepted win & show money. This fulfilled the contract.

They are not required to renew ANY fighter's contract.

BYE, FELICIA!

Bellator won't even take her in their 145 div. because Project Shermhead targets Bellator too. She cut her own throat!

Yeah, on the real. Take out the Cyborg fight which she was set up to lose anyway... & she's 3 -0 in her last few fights... so there's obviously "behind the scenes" reasons for her being let go. This union thing is at the top of the speculation list.

will also send waves of terror through the organization when others start talking about unions. On the real.... the only people that can legitimately talk about a fighters union with no reprocussions are GSP, Conor, & Brock. They can obviously do wtf they want.

Your mma math does not add up.

(false equivalents)
Tell me more about shrooms. You quoted yourself. Not false at all those other two things cost paying fans dozens of fights a year. After all it’s about the fan experience.

She doesn’t fight at 145 so I agree Bellator won’t take her there but they will at 125

FYI, fighters always had right to refusal if an opponent comes in overweight, Leslie denying the fight is well within her rights. If she honored her fight agreement, made the weight, but her opponent didn't, she doesn't have to fight, she can (and receive a percentage of the opponents fight purse), or the promoter can choose to pay more... But the UFC can't force her to fight. I'm sure she did that to force the dialogue of "fighter safety", and "contractile obligations", but it seemed to backfire on her. If she honored her portion of the bout agreement, it seems to me that she has a case against the UFC.... @ErikMagraken what do you think?

She made a dumb move. Now she is no longer a UFC fighter or a Bellator fighter & will have to be replaced at Spearhead by someone who is. She's f$cked!

That's all true, but I'm pretty sure the UFC has the right to release/not resign any fighter they choose, don't they?

I'm not saying Leslie did anything wrong, but she had to expect this.

This is either;
A) a troll
or
B) so ridiculous it’s not even worth commenting on.

If it was her last fight on the contract and they paid her to complete the contract, then the UFC did not do anything illegal but it is a shitty thing to do being that she was 3-1 in her last 4 fights with the loss coming to Cyborg.
