A Sexual-Misconduct Allegation Against the Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh Stirs Tension Among Democrats in Congress
There's a link, but its all over the news. Pick any source.
Synopsis is this:
Kavanaugh (Kav from now on) is nominated for Supreme Court.
GOP wants him, Dems don't.
Mostly he's a right leaning guy with an expected judicial record, but there have been some politicking with the nomination on both sides.
Then Diane Feinstein gets a memorandum by an author that asks she keep it quiet and conceal her identity for now.
Memo says Kav knew her in high school when he was 17 years old. At high school party he gets super wasted and hops on top of her on a bed, gets gropy but its too sloppy drunk to get her clothes off. She tries to scream and he covers her mouth. She's sure she is going to get raped but his friend laughs at the whole thing and playfully tackles both on the bed, disrupting the ongoing act. She gets up and leaves.
This has affected her for years. She is aware that this looks like a jaded teen revenge of some kind. She has taken a lie detector, she has notes from a therapist from 6+ years ago, and close friends confirm her story from years before now.
Feinstein turns documents to feds who add it to the background data for the nomination process.
Media vultures like buzzfeed expose the lady and now she's going public and sticking to her story.
Kav says nothing ever happened. His friend that was supposedly there at the time spent years as an alcoholic later writing a book about his party times and getting sober. He references a "Bart O Kavanaugh" who is assumed to be kav, backing that squeaking clean Kav was actually a prep school drunkard party animal with his boy.
Sooooo, what to do with these allegations for the Supreme court process?
If you've been following who's telling the truth?
