This is one of the worst match ups for Maia.

Bad style match-up for the NBK. Hopefully he has Rory-level sprawling in the fight
I think Condit will win
Maia is great in the early stages of the fight, but by the time the 2nd/3rd rounds hits, he really forces his grappling
Look at the 3rd round of the Matt Brown fight
He shot around 3 takedowns in the first 20 seconds without setting it up with striking and it only went to the ground because of Brown following him there to land strikes
I'd like to think Condit can overcome the sloppy shots by Maia and be able to finish him standing, but that is if he can negate Maia's grappling

Maia gassing faster than normal is what won Rory that fight, let's be honest. Condit doesn't have good wrestling like Rory but is more dynamic off his back and far more likely to score the KO within a limited window of opportunity.
It's an intriguing fight. I think Condit pulls off the KO.
Who coached Alan Belcher to beat Palhares? You need that level of focus on active defence. By active I mean trying to negate it enough to get back to neutral.
I'm not saying Paul Harris can't use other techniques but he was more likely to try a leg lock so a bit easier to prepare for (not easy at all, obviously) than Maia who will take whatever you give him or he forces you to give him..........Maia is much more of a constrictor snake in my opinion......whatever latches on to he will make it work to either advance or crush a limb......
They can't but they might.....if they can hype someone up more, they will push him to the side....This is a great fight. If Maia wins they can't deny him a title shot. Condit wins maybe another win away from a title shot

If Maia can get it to the ground early in the rounds...
Condit would be wise to only allow clinch work in the last minute of action....and that may allow Maia too much opportunity.

He has had 10 fights over the last 4 years at welterweight. I think his place in the division is pretty well established.
Hard to pick, but I'll take Condit for the win.
