Awful card as a PPV and interesting that OP asks if you would buy it for MM.
That's exactly what Dana wants and why he can tell him he isn't a draw. Add Cowboy v Cerrone or for instance Poirier v Alvarez rematch - understand that can't happen now - and it's a decent card.

Damn JDS vs. Ngannou is the highest profile fight there.

So everyone bitches about how much MM doesnt make, thinks Dana is a fuck for saying MM isnt a draw and then proves Dana right by not buying the fight?

Johnsons last fight against Reis was in KC, the first UfC event in this town, and the arena was maybe 3/4 full and people were leaving before and during his fight. No one cares about him.

I'd set the 'no way' bar at 120k. It wouldn't hit 200,000 on its on merits and is 2 weeks after people pay 90 bucks for May-Mac and a week before Canelo-Golovkin.
I guarantee that some of the thought process is that they don't want to waste any bigger ppv draws on a card that probably won't sell will due to so much money being shelled out for those other fights.

This way the UFC is profitable with a low risk, low reward strategy. Either it doesn't sell but they don't have to cover huge salaries or it surpasses expectations and they make a truck load of cash.

Derk is an idiot.

Dana wants the PPV to be a flop.
Dana wants you to think that his 'Contender' series is better than this PPV.

Derk is giving Dana a twitter handjob.

I'll buy it. I love Mighty Mouse.

Also, isn't this the card that is rumored to have Nunes-Schevchenko on it?

That's actually a pretty solid card. I don't know what the issue is here aside from the normal "my standards are so high" bullshit circle jerk.

Honest question: if it was the first time UFC ever came to your city, would this card impress you?

This isn't to start shit, and I know it's not what the OP was about, but I'm genuinely curious what you, or anyone else thinks about this.

It's got two title fights, the fastest-rising HW prospect against a former champ, two guys in Gil and Stevens who always come to fight, and an Olympic gold medalist vs a BJJ black belt on the main card. There's a big fall-off from there, but in terms of a main card I think it's much stronger than people are insinuating.

Thanks for the response, but tbh that seems more like a pr guy's description of the card.

Of the two title fights, one is in a weight class even many hardcores don't care about, and the other features a gender many MMA fans don't follow and which has a demonstrably lower skill level than the men.
Olympic gold medal or not, Cejudo is a strange, unlikeable dude on a losing streak.
Ngannou has looked pretty impressive, but you never know which Cigano will show up.
I'm looking forward to Gib and the Heathen, but that's really the only fight that excites me.

I guess I'm spoiled, but for the first Edmonchuk card, and first return to Alberta after the 149 mess, I expected more.

I give zero shits about either of those two points. You asked me how I felt personally. I like the flyweights, and one of them is looking to beat Anderson Silva's record. I also enjoy Nunes as a story and I have a mutual friend with Valentina, so I'm looking forward to it.

Unlikeability provides heat as much as, if not more than, likeability. I'm curious as to how this fight will go. That losing streak is to the GOAT flyweight, and the second best flyweight ever.
Ngannou has looked pretty impressive, but you never know which Cigano will show up
Which provides intrigue. Ngannou could be fighting for a title soon and this is a big test for him.

It's an average to above average PPV card for this year. You could have gotten a fight pass card headlined by Cejudo vs Reis.

Now that's a proper TMMAC answer.
Thanks. :)

I don't agree with you in some respects, but appreciate the opportunity to discuss without rancor.

Ok you came to the right thread

I didn't check but I believe the event is at the Rodgers center.

The cage will basically be setup in the center face off circle. Walk ins will most likely enter from the lower left between 107 and 108. The best section for this would be 103.followed by 102,119,120. Any row in those will give you the best view in the arena. The higher almost the better as the cage becomes less a factor.
If those are not possible I'd go upper level 203, 202, 219,220, if you can get in the first 3 rows or so you will have a good clear view. You will be high but probably hava a good look at the giant screen over the cage as well. I had this for 214 and had forgot how good you can see everything from those seats. The first row in any upper level is a pretty good seat and can be good value depending on the price range.

After those try 010,104,121,118 but upper rows as the angle with the cage becomes bad.
Try to avoid the lower "end zones" on both sides especially the corners . The view can be terrible.

This should break it down but ask any questions you have.

Not a fan of wmma but id rather watch the co-main event than the main event.
