Quality of posts here is way, way better thus far than the UG. There's very little pure idiocy, far more actual content as opposed to garbage noise.
That said, the UG's in decline, as far as quality (not, though, as far as quality). Most of the posters here are likely outfall in some sense from the UG's decline, so it's only natural that a certain amount of "gossipping" ("lamenting," really) happens, since this is the first place there's really been that is truly a result of the UG's decline. There are other forums that UGers use, but none that are quite so much directly a development of its decline (again, I mean a decline of quality).
It isn't a perception, it's a reality, as far as the troll/dipshit dominance of the UG, now. It will bother some more than others.
Just as the UG's decline is inevitable, so is it that as this spot ages it will include fewer and fewer threads and posts that are about that decline. Right now, though, it's still fresh. No big deal, and (as repetitively pounded upon) it's only natural and inevitable.

A lot of those threads are not necessary to bash the UG but to praise how this site is better compared to how it is over there.

I only lurked the UG and am very new here but it seems like a good crowd on this forum. I never spotted many people shitting on the UG but like I said I'm new.

You hit a good point about a smaller community being more tight nit. I LOVE that in an mma forum. MMAFighting.net had that feel for it for years. Sure we got new members, but the regulars stayed regulars, and new members became regulars or were just weeded out.
There were some real bonds formed there, which even though I haven't been back and won't go back, there are members there that if needed my help, I would provided it to them granted I could. One member, I won't mention his username, contacted me over the phone because he was going through some difficult times. Lost his job, had an old injury act up, and he started drinking again. It feels good to help people, it feels good to know there are people to help.
Knowing that this place is starting off that type of community, makes me super happy I was invited early on. Great forum!

I think a lot of the posters on this site really wanted the UG to work. The forum broke down, that's ok we will come back. Oh it broke down again that's fine..but after 4 years of it constantly breaking down i think people had a right to ask questions to what is happening. It wore out their patience.
People had asked if all users can post pictures. They said no they want the revenue stream even though its free on every other forum.
A lot of people had their posts deleted. That's fine, but what posters wanted was a simple explanation by a mod to what was done wrong. There was no explanation. They just deleted and froze people. Users would just disappear and no one knew what happened to them including the user themselves. When people made threads asking for a change they said no, Thats fine its their forum they can run it how they want it.
Mayhem Miller burns down a church and is naked, everyone is allowed to talk about. Domestic Abuse for other fighters and we can discuss it. Dana's mom gets a book and this is personal. Lorenzo makes a tweet and this is also personal and people banned and frozen. Rogan comes in an post about not liking the place and then there needs to be change even though people were mentioning it for years.

Good points Justin. One of my main deterents from coming here to be honest. I like to talk about fighting and things around, not some other forum. The forum is simply a means of talking about fighting, it should never be talking about the forum itself, or other forums I suppose.
Oddly enough, I still like the UG and don't have the hate everyone else does for it.
