When that lying chemical experiment named Cyborg fucked over Invicta by pulling out of the main event, so they called up thier only other star fighter on short notice: Michelle Waterson.
Being the good shit she is and wanting to help the new matchmaker, her friend Julie Kedzie, she accepted. (Even though she had lost every short notice fight she ever had)
Michelle was massively favored to win. Something like -1000. The opponent, Herica Tiburcio, had a good record but had only fought in Brazil and was only 5 feet tall. Waterson on the other hand had just beat won the belt by finishing Brown Belt Jessica Penne via submission:
Then defended her belt by utterly destroying a former champ who was on a 4 fight win streak and ranked #5 in the world:
Should have been an easy win. Instead, the short notice led to an almost deadly weight cut. The doctor couldn't find her pulse for an hour.
She looked slow and weak, then got submitted. It was shocking and painful to see:
Even more saddening was the scene from the Fight Mom documentary that showed her daughters reaction afterwards:

....and that is why I hate Brazil.
