But he has a good name and that makes a great story.

He won't win and isn't more valuable than Westbrook but he is a hell of a player in crunch time.

I haven't been following NBA but is there another player name Isiah Thomas other than the leader of Bad Boys Pistons team? Are they related?

Old-school Pistons Thomas = Isiah spelled wrong.
New-school Celtics Thomas = Isaiah spelled correctly.

They're both really good PG and team leaders, but the MVP this year will be either Russ or Harden.
Thomas will get votes, along with LBJ and Leonard.
