Bengals are going to be lucky to be top 3.... in the division.

Such a horribly run franchise.

Higgins wants out.
Chase wants money.
Hendrickson wants out.
  • Hendrickson is signed through 2025.
    • "I love it here. This is the team that opened its arms to me," he has always said since they made him their richest free agent ever before the Super Bowl run of 2021. - May 13, 2024
  • Higgins is a legit #1 - but you can't pay two #1's so he got franchised. Probably will get tagged again next year. I actually thought they were going to trade him.
  • Chase is just doing what NFL WRs do. Just about all of the Top WRs end up in contract talks/holdouts at some point. It's annoying, and I don't really fault the Bengals for it. He is signed through next year. Next year is when that contract should be negotiated - Chase is trying to cash in on that Jefferson momentum. I think he'll suit up when the season gets going. Hopefully.
Historically you are correct. Bengals have been a horribly run franchise, but ever since owner Mike Brown has taken a back seat in the day-to-days it's been much better.

When you have a lot of talented players you're going to have a lot of players with their hands out. It isn't shocking.

Idk why guys like burrow, luck, rivers extend themselves with shit run franchises. Loyalty because they drafted them? In their shoes id gtfo after rookie contract but that seems to be a rarity

Money.

They always get extended prior to true free agency... meaning they get a gigantic chunk of guaranteed money/signing bonus a year earlier.

if you're damn good you can get that money from any team

I guess the team could fuck with you and start tagging you like cousins who was tagged like three times by Washington

True.
But most "good" teams have established players already in place.

Back on Chase, literally the ONLY reason to leave Cincy now that Burrow is signed long term would be money. It's not like he's going to find a better repoir with a different QB.

It won't be easy, but I have hope that my Bengals can give them a run if Burrow can stay healthy.

The two play each other week 2 - @ KC - which kind of sucks that it's so early in the season. Huge advantage for KC, and the game could very well decide where that AFC Championship game will be played.

It sort of sucks that the rest of the AFC West is so blah. I mean how many years have they won it in a row? Very similar to NE's run and their domination over the AFC East.
I will be at that game. I just assumed Burrow wouldn’t be playing. I thought he normally takes the first few games of the season off.

Haha. Historically he's had shit luck at the beginning of the season for sure. But fingers crossed he hits the ground running and the Bengals don't spot the league a 2 game head start right off the jump.

I almost bought tickets to that game too. Arrowhead is on my list of places I want to see a game at.

Try to hit Arrowhead in Oct/Nov. it’s probably going to be hot as fuck middle of September. I get my tickets from a vendor and my options were Bengals, or Texans on 12/21. I picked bengals over risking frostbite. Stroud and Burrow made it a toss up. I’m excited to see Burrow play in person.

Good call. I'd rather be cold than hot.
KC weather is a lot like Cincy's. Those early season games can be nasty.

There's often a team or two out there that's "just a QB away". Just look at what Peyton and Brady did when they left their first teams.

I'm watching last season's mic'd up and Arthur Smith is the most obnoxious fuck ever.
