The coaching issue is what it’s always been; he thinks he knows best and wants a lapdog. You’re talking about a perspective based in reality, he doesn‘t live there. That’s the point.
In his mind the issue isn’t the coach because the coach does what he wants, and what he wants is the way. Making money isn’t ever going to be an issue for Dallas, and they have some huge contracts on their books. They aren’t paying guys like Dak and Lamb because they make the front pages and draw in mass attention. He think they’re the answer.
Jerry just wants the team to be good enough to give a lot of fans who don’t understand what they’re looking at false hope every year. And you see it. Every year Cowboys fans think this is their year. They beat up on shit teams and can’t win big games

Regardless of what Jerry does players still have to play well on the field ultimately it falls on the players.
It does. But a lot of how the players perform on the field is a result of how they are coached. And Jerry only hires coaches that are going to be sycophants
You don’t need the contracts they have to do that. You want to see a pro sports team that actually functions under that philosophy? Look at the Seattle Mariners under Jerry Dipoto. Spend just enough to compete for playoff spot so fans show up on hope alone, but never really make the move that puts you over the edge.
