Higgins has been professional for years now. Everyone sees hes a #1 WR and he wants to get paid. The Bengals drew first blood by talking shit about in to the media before the season. When Chase or Burrow were out he was the guy who stepped up.
He said he wanted to talk about a contract extension but the Bengals didn't asnwer any call from his agent and didn't have any contact with him all off-season.

Bengals feel like they are still in playoff contention so I dont think they wanna trade Higgins. Would piss off some players well I would think. They most likely use him and in typical Bengals fashion come up short when it counts and then loss another great player.
Same thing happened with Jessie Bates during their SB run. He wanted a new deal but they could not pay him so he left. Just like their defense when Bates left their offense is gonna get worse when Higgens is gone.
