Yeah, he would like to go back to the long ball, i'm quite sure. Rashee Rice coming back will help a bit, but the blocking just has to be better.
His backyard football skill is elite, which makes him always dangerous even if the team is shaky
Amazing skill to have.
Probably will still have it for at least another 5+ years though

Ok so he starts on IR

Pickett
Flacco
Gabriel from Oregon
Sanders

Interesting
They could keep all 4 on the roster but who is on practice squad eventually
I guess it depends on how Gabriel and sanders look in camp, they are cheaper

Miles Garrett is probably shaking his head thinking what are we doing wasting picks on two QBs instead of other needs with one of the picks
Flacco is signed for 1 year @ $4m ($3m guaranteed)
Pickett is signed for 1 year @ $2.6m (fully guaranteed)
Watson will be on IR for 2025 - but he has a cap hit of $36m

My assumption is Flacco is the Day 1 starter.
Pickett gets traded before the season starts.

Either Gabriel or Sanders is QB2. Odd man out is practice squad.

For 2026 they move on from Flacco - who likely plays less than 10 games in 2025 due to injury.
Starter is either Watson or Sanders/Gabriel.
Or - if 2025 is the shit show we are all hoping it is - the Brownies select Arch Manning and we are right back to square one.

The Dolphins drafted 4 players (3 DT and 1 OT) that weigh over 300 lbs.

They have also picked up 3 UDFA (2 OG and another DT) who weigh 305, 300 and 298.

EDIT: Dolphins just picked up a 305 lb OT as well.

How much of that is his fault and how much is Deion Sanders fault? I guess the kid is an adult now and responsible for his own actions. Still, it's just toxic. I think I like toxicity less and less as I get older.
Some of it is both. Deion is certainly driving a lot of it, especially, forcing his number to be retired which everyone knows was nonsense, etc.
But apparently shedeur is incredibly entitled and arrogant and everything that might go wrong Is everyone else’s fault not his. A mindset that he definitely got from his father who is the only coach he’s ever known.
It’s a fascinating scenario.
He was not a legit top five pic but seeing him drop so far was crazy. Teams were making a statement it seems like.

Seems like a departure from recent philosophy because they’ve been a speed finesse team. That tends to get wrecked when the game gets physical in cold weather later in the season

Yep, and it's been received very positively among the fans. The Dolphins had several good edge guys but very few interior DL going into the draft, so getting at least one starter and one depth guy was an absolute must. Combine that with our terrible OL play, and utter lack of short yardage run game, and big guys in the trenches were the team's biggest need.

Next biggest need is the defensive backfield, after losing a starting safety to free agency, and an apparently mutual agreement with all-pro CB Jalen Ramsey that he can seek a trade. The Dolphins free up $16 mil in cap space if they wait till June 1st to trade him, so I expect them to try to bring in a CB when he goes.

I have to say it's been good to see that Chris Grier (GM) and Mike McDaniel have been pretty conservative during free agency. The fear amongst fans was that they would be fearful of their long term future, and so would restructure contracts to try to bring in short term fixes at the cost of future cap space.

They have done the opposite, probably the most important signings have been James Daniels at OG, and Zach Wilson as an at least somewhat competent backup for Tua (Skylar Thompson was absolute garbage last year, he averaged fewer than 100 passing yards per game).

Some interesting stuff here about how NIL is impacting scouting. Also, mentions analytic guy and consistency with measurable. Start about 10:25 for that.
