Agreed. It's fucking cheesy. Why play flag, why risk it?
NFL games are won in the trenches with full on battling. Game won't translate and nobody is gonna care about it.
Maybe 2nd string level guys might participate, or fading vets.Agreed. It's fucking cheesy.
Justin Jefferson came out saying it's a dream come true to be able to play for an Olympic medal.Maybe 2nd string level guys might participate, or fading vets.
No reason for starting level NFL guys playing for 2nd or 3rd giant contracts should play touchbutt in the park
Earning an Olympic gold medal is still something. Recievers/defenders won't really translate, neither will running backs. pass rushers maybe but QBs definitely will translate as will kickers, both will have an easier time without the risk of getting hitWhy play flag, why risk it?

My bad, they will kind of translate, though some of them will have trouble with the YAC stuff, seems like the flag football folk are better at doing these nimble moves to avoid having their flags takenwhy won't receivers translate?
We need to figure out a way to get into flag football. Use it on first down and kill the competition with it from jump.![]()
Sources: Tempers flare in tense tush push debate
Debate over the tush push led to a heated exchange between NFL owners and league executives, sources told ESPN.www.espn.com
Tush push going nowhere.
The last thing the world need is Hali knowing how to fight.
The thing is there isn't many super intelligent QBs, their are some and they usually revolutionize the game during their primes. Peyton Manning was obviously as smart as it gets, Pre Snap he knew everything about every player on the field.

Gruden points out something I talked about last season in that parts of the game are being streamlined. He uses the term "dissolving" but the point remains. While to him it's a negative but I would be to most coaches it does not really matter in that way.
Last year a few people said a QB can't read a defense and it's a common trope said about a QB play and its used in a negative way. Most of the time it's a pointless argument to make in the context that it's used as. QBs dont need to be an encyclopedia of the total football knowledge now. They just need to know what they are gonna do and what defenses they may face in attempts to stop them and that does not necessarily mean they need to know the total defense at every moment of the game.
Now I'm not saying it's a "Madden" style or level of football understanding and therfore we all know just as much as a QB. It's more like a "We got this call going right now and these are the post snap adjustments I can expect my WR to make based off the coverages he will face. When he does this and of the CB does this then I throw the ball. If I don't like that I move on. Now I need to know what my O-Line is doing and what pass rushes they are facing". The QB didn't need to read the whole defense post snap.
OCs learned that keeping a QBs mental burden being a minimum as possible gets them to play both fast and confident.
Remember...this is what the levels of complications Gruden likes. Then the QB is gonna need to know every adjustment off that.
