Illegal immigrants are net contributors. Also isn't it people overstaying visas which is the main problem for illegal immigration? The wall just isn't a cost effective option. There are other reasons to clamp down on illegal immigration other than they cost money, like they depress wages and it creates an underclass. It would be better to work out a suitable immigration process that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, but also takes into account the amount of available work.High estimates on border wall costs $40 billion over 3-4 years.

Nah, we'll start with the wall as that's the more likely route the violent illegals enter. Then we can work on overstays and legal immigration costs.
Just because legal immigration may be costly doesn't give an immigrant the right or justification to enter illegally.
Shit happens when your straightening out a twisted country, unfortunately world leaders are generally the economically elite, and the economically elite play golf(gay)...so that's how shit gets done, over golf.
