$5 an ounce over market value is 25%, that's a no from me dawg, I had stocks that made 40%, in less than a week.
What I'm saying is, it's physically unavailable in most places. You're a couple months late, but it's possible if your area is slow to the draw.

High end optics and telescopes
Space vehicles space suits
Dentistry and medicine
Electronics...gold is an essential part of much of our electronics

I do love your hypothetical though...that is how my mind works, and that thought does apply to so many "valuable" things/items.

Don't forget high end sound equipment, one of the best connectors because it doesn't oxidize and it is soft so you get the best surface to surface connection.

Not worth your while on a jack or a HDMI though, thats a gimmick

Edit, oops I see it in your post now , you mentioned electronics, pretty much the same thing.

Could shoulda woulda...
I'm not ballsy enough to pay that premium to guess silver would do what it's currently doing.
I was just bumping the thread because silver was rising
I responded to a gold and a silver post

I am sure your investments and portfolio are solid, wasn't really directed at you personally.
Just wanted to bump thread to point out the long overdue rise in the Precious Metal Prices seems to be upon us...so I picked a post about each metal.

The Premiums are ridiculous of course...but it is, what it is.

I paid as much as 23.81 a month ago for AE's, $5 over spot then.
I can already sell them for 26, and 40 by Jan.1st.
Gold will hit 3k/oz. by the same time; of that I'm sure.

Silver is 25 bucks an ounce right now
Interesting

Gold is pushing for an all time high soon
Didn't it already hit an all-time high?

This is fun.
I went shopping Saturday, and broke even today.

Couldn't keep it down long.
I think Gold hits 2k before the weekend.

Damn

Silver above 26 now

I have an offer to go gold mining with some older dude, hope it pans out.
I went panning last year.
I came back with a speck.
In the great outdoors thread, I posted some foraging pics a couple weeks ago.
That was on claim land.

nice
that is cool, wish you found more though

This guy is apparently an ounce a day guy and offered to split the profit after paying for his costs
He is from the OG, you probably read his posts on the subject as they were in the silver thread
His claim is norcal, would have probably already done some mining but this damn Covid is fucking it up
