I went to a local provincial park yesterday and hiked up to a waterfall. 100 years ago some rich Scottish dude built a hydro dam to power his estate and orchards .it was pretty interesting.the guy built a manor house pretty much in the middle of nowhere with only lake access and a 50km goat trail in.

since the old guy had big bucks in his day he built himself a packing house and cold storage building that served the north end of the valley . he also ran the ferry system and had the railway ferry rail cars up the lake to load with fruit from his 2500 acre orchards. they also had cattle and this is the last remaining hexagonal barn in british columbia
