I opened up a random box at my grandmother's house about a year ago and found some of my grandfather's war pictures. He wasn't much of a photographer, and most of his shots were really random, almost like he was documenting the experience. What struck me as cool were his pictures of bombs exploding. He wouldn't have had a zoom on his piece of shit camera, and seeing how close he was to some of these just blew my mind. I'm back at my grandmother's next Thursday, so if I think of it I'll take some cell phone shots of his pics.
