So you still can't prove at all how the guy was out, and Goddard made a judgement call. You do realize even fine refs like Goddard fuck up.

So, at the end of the day, you failed on giving any proof he was out.

Too easy, as I figured.
You don't think so good, do you? Stunad...

good post but if got gave them swords I think the loser wins that fight...he was dominating early if I remember correctly

rounds of course allowed him to reset himself...but maybe god likes 5 minute rounds....I prefer the 10 minute round personally

proper winner got the win, but I think Ref errors are apparent in this match.
Edited for clarity :)

Goddard makes it sound like the actual ref called a technical sub/tko, but the show producers or other commision officials or whomever were in a rush and assuming it was going to the judges without clarifying, and all he did was stop them from doing that by explaining that the ref was calling a finish.

I remember when a similar situation went the other way with Invicta - a lot of people were angry with the commission for not granting the appeal.

He was never proven to have been out, and even if he was, ref never stopped it.
You get that refs make mistakes and instant replay is there for a reason right?

It was victory by submission

I wish they had instant replay when bisping and Anderson fought so Anderson would have got his damn finish like he should have

Watch the gif I posted above and please explain to me why his leg is still twitching after Simon gets off?

Dude was out

The only wrong call is that it should have been scored a submission

Watch dudes leg still kicking after Simon gets off him
Dude was out and then snapped back

Simon won that fight by finish
Thank God they instituted instant replay so they get these things right

well to be fair I don't think anyone has seen the leg twitch in bicycle form yet from a choke out

I know holly was throwing combos when out or going out but I haven't seen the leg thing yet....I have only seen leg seizure movements ala Lindland

So I think people should be allowed to be a bit confused or differ in opinions....this is not a clear cut situation IMO, if so then Ref should have stopped it

Replay is new and those replay waters are pristine and haven't really been tested yet.

Such an interesting Gif LOL thanks

would like to hear @Rhino opinion on that leg response thing, has he seen anything like that before....probably seen more guys sleep than us combined

WHAT THE FUCK YOU TRYNA SAY HERE BRO????
LOL..I know you like watching fools sleep.

you saw the fight, I assume you have seen many people on the verge of consciousness

you ever see a guy kicking his legs exactly like that while he was "out"?

Do you think he was "out" or just severely comprimised?

Just wanted your two cents on it.

LOL I'm joking.... Yes I've seen guys choked out in tournaments, KOed in fights, and all do that nervous system response thing where they'll twitch and shake... Some people will have a repetitive motion response and keep trying to grapple or punch (it's what they're programmed to do). It's just a nervous system disconnect, once blood flow starts again, or they get woken up from that concussion they've likely suffered from, systems tend to get reset.... SC MMA MD @SC MMA MD what's the science/physiology behind this?

I have seen some of what you describe...never the riding bike thing he was doing though.

Maybe Biking is his main cardio and he was on autopilot as you describe.

I have seen the twitching/seizure shake a lot(I don't like that one at all)

I was a bit concerned that his neck was like getting dislocated or a nerve pinched or something and the kicking was a sign of some spinal injury shit...glad it wasn't...hope the dude is OK today or eventually...his eyes were bulging also and that was gnarly

thanks for the post bro

I remember Anderson Silva pulling guard against Herb Dean after Weidman KOed him, someone else took down Mirgliotta after being KO/or choked out.... Kim Couture had a scary submission, Holly fist bumped to a rave in her head against Meisha, and I saw a dude at a NAGA one time pull a Ric Flair...

Dude got put out in a guillotine choke, went limp, his opponent said that he was out and let him go, the ref went to revive him, and the guy popped up, ran in a circle, then fully did that Flair thing..... It was the funniest/scariest thing ever

Agree, would be great to get an opinion from both @Rhino

I did state my opinion as fact there
It just seems clear to me that not only was he out, the ref put him serious danger by not recognizing it

I do have a question
If they were going to score it a tko which is when a fighter is not intelligently defending himself
Why the fuck not stop it with 10 or 15 seconds left when marub was not defending at all and just twitching his leg
Even if he did not tap
That to me is a clear tko

I still think he was out and that it should have been a sub, but thinking about it, it could have been stopped even earlier and declared a tko by definition

Again this is only my opinion and obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion

I also have the right to criticize their opinion though lol
Just playin

For sure...i was speaking generally, not just to you

I also think it should have been stopped when he had limp arms and a red bulging face

Rhino posted above and shared some good info and stories

This is almost exactly how I described it to my wife

I believe (but could be wrong) that when the twitching starts is when all the blood has stopped going to the brain (maybe also left the brain) and this is when brain damage can start to become a factor

Absolutely, I'll use a rear naked choke for an example.... Within 4 seconds you can put an opponent to sleep... Hold that choke for 10/15 seconds, you can cause irreversible brain damage.... Longer than that, death.

I feel in MMA, too many fighters take too long of beatings where fights should be stopped
