Joe Rogan has always been vocal about his disagreements with the company. During a recent conversation with strawweight contender Michelle Waterson at a recent JRE MMA Show podcast episode, the long-time UFC analyst once again spoke about the company’s recent decisions, particularly with releasing middleweight fighter Elias Theodorou.

“Obviously I’m a giant fan of the UFC, I love them to death,” Rogan said. “I am so happy and I would nothing for any other organization. I would never want to work for any other organization.

“But I don’t like the way they do things. There are a lot of things I don’t like. They just cut Elias Theodorou. One loss (to) Derek…

Gotta give it to Rogan, he's never been afraid to speak his mind on some of the UFC's tactics.

    ^I agree

it's like he is almost glad to stir trouble. he is obviously solvent and extremely busy with his innumerable time-consuming interests. he is in say-what-you-like/ok-fire-me territory

I fully agree with this statement, but it's funny to watch people pile on him for being the "company man" when his opinions align with what's best for the UFC.

I love Joe Rogan. Despite his hyperbole (ex. Ronda being a “once in an ever athlete”), I appreciate his talent, knowledge, and perspective. What I give him the most credit for though, is how he stays true to who he is. He is a good employee on the clock, but isn’t scared to express his personal opinions in his own medium. The best part is that he has played such a significant role with the UFC’s core fan base that he has them by the short and curlies. They can’t let him go without a PR nightmare and fan revolt, and they can’t push him to hang his tune on the JRE or he will walk away. Love the dynamic and I hope he is willing to stay on for many more years!

This is all from the Waterson JRE.

    JRE Michelle Waterson

He explicitly says he would never work for anyone else and that he loves the UFC but can not get behind some of their decisions.

He has also stated on many occasions that the only reason he is still there is his friendship with Dana.

This issue is that he will sometimes speak up about the UFC's mistakes but other times tow the company line (i.e. Jon Jones, Golden Snitch) and spread the favourable UFC rhetoric on issues that are obviously corrupt.

fair play, yes I totally forgot that vu

seems insane to value Dana's friendship, as Dana does not appear to value anything if money crosses into the equation, which it well could with Joe. he is skating on thin emotional ice

He's almost always shilling for them. A broken clock is right twice a day.

Rogan is big celebrity in his own right and has his own serious revenue streams. That's what makes him such a cuck for the UFC. The UFC isn't going to fire him unless he goes massively against the company line and why the fuck would he really care even if they did? He's not some Jon Anik-type where getting fired from this side gig would actually impact his lifestyle.

He's a bitch for not speaking out all of the time, rather than some badass for taking the corporate cock out of his mouth for a few seconds to tell the truth every now and then, knowing he won't get into any trouble anyway. Going in to bat over Elias Theodorou getting fired? Ooohh. That's really going to piss the UFC off.

Or (more likely) the guy is a big fan of Jon Jones and willing to rationalize his behavior any way he needs to.

Or even more likely Jon Jones never intentionally took performance-enhancing drugs
