'How exactly did the sparring sessions go for Rousey and Pennington? Well ... according to Pennington, she legally can’t delve into specifics.

'“I can't really talk about how sparring went or what we did,” Pennington said. “Ronda asked me to sign a non-disclosure agreement, so I did. All I can say is the fact I was able to put in work with her and that it was solid work. I can't say too much more than that.”'

Don't know if anyone posted about this yet, but I didn't see it.

So Ronda did spar. I think the problem with Edmond might just be that he doesn't have the coaching of an athlete's mentality down.

For this reason, I think Ronda needs to put in time at TAM with JB...however she would have to apologize to PVZ and honestly I think she would be a drain on them.

So therefore I will go out on a limb and say that since she needs to work on wrestling skills, she should train with Bendo and let him preach to her when she gets too anxious or mean.

At least bring a decent striker or some boxer. Raquel is not high level striker at all.

You can't bring in someone to decimate your fighter... Yes hi level does work when you're sharp, but I would bet that Raquel was boxing up Ronda and probably had her confidence shook. There are times you bring in way better guys to help you learn, and times you bring in people to get you sharp for a fight (take live shots, challenge yourself, improve your reaction time).

Ronda needs to learn how to strike, this entire year off should have been her high level boxing. In her camp for Nunes, she should have implemented her newer skill set into her strength, and used her striking along with level changes to establish her clinch game.

She bumped into Raquel November 10th , and started sparring with her who knows when. You are right about level changes but did somebody even teach her that? . I think it was same old game plan get in close and trip Nunes.
Didn't Dc bring in Rico ? He would decimate all of them standing. If somebody starts decimating her in practice then only she will improve or she is doomed forever.

Non disclosure agreements are common when bringing in an outside fighter into a training camp as a sparring partner.... You can't have them running off telling what they've experienced with the fighter. That's what happens though when you don't have a real team around you though.

I'm don't doubt it, but could you give us one other example where a sparing partner (for any fighter) has said they were asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Off the top of my head, no.... But then again, most other fighters come from large camps with multiple top fighters.... In boxing the practice is common because there aren't "Fight Teams". I know that ATT has Pro Practice, as does other top schools/teams where only the best guys on that team work together.. Ronda has herself, I'm not even sure if her "4 Horsewomen" group still actively rain with her.

I just listened to Nick Diaz talking about his sparring sessions with two different professional boxers. I don't think it's as common as you think it is, in boxing or MMA. If anyone on this board boxes and has been asked to sign a non-disclosure after sparring, feel free to jump in.

I know it is common, if fighters either don't have a fight team, or are looking for specific specialists in techniques, they bring them into their camps. Nate Diaz finished his last week of camp before the Michael Johnson fight at my gym, we trained with him and his guys a little and were all asked not to post videos, pics or discuss any game plans or technique drills..... Was it a signed piece of paper? No, was the intent the same? Yup..... This was done before his matchup with Conor, so it may not have been on the radar of "big fights". You take Ronda, the #1 Female MMA fighter, with a one year layoff, and no real fight team.... You bring in specialists to help her, people she normally doesn't train with, all while she's in a self imposed media blackout.... You're damn real her management doesn't want training footage or any game plan info getting out.

I already knew there was any honor system in place so that information doesn't get out, but I was asking specifically about having to sign non-disclosure agreements. Let me ask you this, when you say Ronda doesn't have a real fight team, do you mean that she mainly trains by herself with her coaches?

I believe BJ Penn use to make guys do non disclosures too from what I remember some of his old training partners back in the early/mid 2000's saying. As for Ronda, I'm not sure who she trains with now... It was her "4 Horsewomen" girls, but I'm not sure how much they train together. Most training footage that has been released of her just shows her and her coaches nowadays.

BJ's training partners have always been pretty loose lipped about their sparring sessions. In his hall of fame speech that was recently posted by the UFC on YouTube, BJ talks about being a great gym fighter, and most stories you hear from his ex-sparring partners seem to confirm this. During his preparation for one of the Edgar fights, training partners were posting about their sparring sessions with BJ on the underground while he was technically still in camp.

I completely forgot about that whole "4 Horsewomen" thing.

Marina's preggo and in Florida, Shayna and Jess trained with her at altitude for this fight. 3 of the 4 train at CSW and would come help ronda whenever she asked.

Who's Marina with? Good for her. Last I saw Shayna was for that wrestling thing.. Is she still fighting MMA? I hear great things about Jess from a few people, apparently she's a sweetheart, I've never met her so I don't know.

Rodrick Strong and Marina are getting married. Shayna's currently in Japan wrestling for Stardom for the next couple of months. Jess is one of the nicest people I've met in mma. Genuinely a good person. I never met Marina, but I met ronda and she was really nice. Shayna and Jess I talk to daily, and its a shame the shit they get, when they are great people.

That's awesome for all of them... It's good when you know fighters and people personally and know them outside the public eye (and it sucks when people bash them or talk shit about them). I've heard nothing but the best about those ladies (Marina, Jess, Shayna), I've only met Shayna once years back and she was funny and cool.

But the posters here know better, because they saw TUF.. right? Majority of the hate is from the fans of miesha just because she's "hot." If they only knew how much of a piece of shit she and caraway are.

Edit: no fighter bashing please. You can say the same thing worded differently - L
