Yeah I get it too. People don't like it when fighters are brash and confident, talk shit etc. Like Conor, Floyd and others, they want to see them lose. But me personally, I get it and I understand why they do it. It's no coincidence those 3 people - Ronda, Conor and Floyd - are the most popular names and biggest draws in combat sportsI can actually understand why a lot of people dont like her but I find her to be interesting. I'd rather her be a little rough around the edges than cookie cutter.
She does get a lot of hate but those people are more vocal than the fans which is true for anyone.
They are polarizing - either loved or hated - but they know exactly what they are doing. They're playing the game, marketing themselves and hyping their fights. The results speak for themselves, because the numbers don't lie. They have sold massive amounts of PPVs. More PPVs have been sold in 2015 by those 3 names alone than by the entire UFC, boxing and WWE combined in any year in the past. JUST Ronda, Floyd and Conor's 2015 buys surpass every other year added up from the UFC, Boxing and WWE's entire run of shows on any given year.
Anyway.. I just think Ronda seems like a cool person. I don't care if someone isn't super respectful every second of every interview. I don't mind some trash talking. Ronda isn't even 30, either. I know I say some dumb shit, and I'm 26 years old. NO one is perfect. Ronda seems like a cool person to me who is intensely driven in her profession - fighting - and very smart, because she sure knows who to get herself out there and make truckloads of cash while becoming one of the most famous athletes in the world.
I can't hate on success. I am a big fan of all the fighters mentioned above.. Floyd, Conor and Ronda... I like it when fighters shake things up, sell massive amounts of PPVs. Their fights turn into events, and not just another fight night. They have an aura about them. To me, it's cool - but like you, I get why other people might not like them... To each their own.. I am a fan!
