Sure, if we were 14, we'd think it was awesome. But it's still predatory. And it's happening a lot...like a LOT.

Besides, it tends to most often be anywhere from decently attractive to fairly hot women doing this.

This was several years ago, and things may have changed since then. But I recall reading a study that said most of the "victims" of these teachers are special ed students. Of course, it takes a lot less to get placed into special ed these days that when I was in school.

I think its a combination of proximity attraction mixed with emotional safety. These female teachers know they are the one calling the shots in the relationships with these kids. They are not as emotionally vulnerable compared to dealing with someone their own age.
