Remember seeing a thread like this years ago on sherdog and the other place.. pretty cool idea and fun one also. Here are a few things from a couple jobs I've had.

Hertz; If you have a friend who works for them, you can get their discounted rate all the time once they add you to their friends and family list.. a lot different now than it was 2 years ago when they had just a discount code that made the rates insane.
If you're nice and cool about pretty much anything you can get a free upgrade from the person you're renting from. Most small spots like mine dont always have the vehicle type you want, but if you're nice you'll get something better.
When doing online reservations, ALWAYS call the location after making the reservation. It is a logistical nightmare working for them and other rental places.. the online and call centers fuck over locations multiple times a day. Just because the website says there are economy cars available, doesn't make it right for that specific location. Infact the system is set up for if there is an available economy car in the REGION, it will say that it is available for said location. Always call and ask, takes 5 minutes and will get you some brownie points too, IE upgraded stuffn not being charged for satellite radio etc..

I actually got fired because of this.. fucktard made a reservation 20 minutes prior, during the height of the travel season, and we had no spare vehicles, specially for a reservation made 20 minutes prior. Fucktard then threatened me because I told him I have no vehicle for him.

Hooters Hotel and Casino; Priceline will get you the best deal here, I saw rooms go there for 17$ a night and it's the perfect location for Vegas trips, right across the street from the MGM and usually overlooked because of the stigma of being the Hooters hotel. Most of the time you're in Vegas, you dont spend much at the hotel.. you're out gambling or at shows etc.. It's the best bang for your buck.

Always tip the valet guys, we got fucked hardcore by most people when I was there.. I'd sprint to get a vehicle for someone within 1 minute of them giving me their ticket and would get stiffed.. The day shift guys were fucked the worst though.. at least on graveyard I was able to make good money from sending people to the strip clubs(next).

In 08-09 I could get anywhere from 20-40$ per person sending them to the strip clubs. They would pay up to 80$ a head for this and the limo drivers would split it with us. If you want to go to a strip club, ALWAYS ask your valet/concierge. They will hook you up with the limo companies and get you a ride there in one. Pay the cover charge and tip the driver and that's all you have to do.. most I ever sent was 25 on christmas day/night 2008, unluckily for me they weren't paying 80$ a head, only 40$. Still was a good haul that night. Most I ever made was 1200$ by myself on the graveyard shift.. After the split with the other shifts was a 360$ haul. Wasn't bad.

Citibank Visa/Mastercard/Amex: you can get 3 late fees waived. Call in to customer service after 6pm, ask nicely. If the rep tells you no ask why (don't interrupt) ask again as a courtesy (if no again) ask for a manager. The rep or the manager will give you the credit at that point if your account is current.

T-Mobile: Call in to close your account because you found cheaper service at a competitor, you'll be transferred to retention and offered $5.00 discount for 6 months.

Accidentally don't pay your gym bill for 6 months, get questioned by front desk worker who interrupts your workout to ask for payment. Get angry, ask tmmac for advice, take advice and not only get account wiped clean (iirc) but also get a discount on monthly fees moving forward.

This works for just about anything besides utilities.
An example is cable companies. Call up and ask about your bill(notice they never charge you too little).
Ask for the retention department when all else fails.

The valet guys loved me. Every time I went out I gave em a $20. Since I didn't drink, and friends worked at all the clubs/bars, that's all a night out would cost me. Not that $20 is huge but they got to know me and most girls in Vegas never want to and don't pay for anything even when they should.

20$ is awesome. One big spender would give us 100$ every time we took him anywhere.

If you bring your IT guy kolaches or other delicious foods, they will, in fact, prioritize your problem. Food bribery works. And we're corrupt as shit.

Not my job, but I'm surprised by how many people don't know this:

Nearly all US airline carriers will allow you to change your flight if they had to make a change to what you booked. If you book a flight many months in advance, it is very likely they will move you to another flight that is more cost effective for them or maybe they'll even cancel the original flight you booked. The change can be major or minor. I just had one shifted by five minutes.

The rules around your counter is that you have to fly to and from the same places on the same day. Layover airports can change.

If you are booking well in advance, you can book the cheapest flight on the days you want to travel, then log into your account months later and compare what is there to what you booked. If it changed, call them up and tell them they changed your flights so you need to make a change. Then tell them the flight numbers of the flights you want to switch to. As long as there are seats available, they'll make the change. Now you have flights at the time that works best for you, but you paid for a cheaper flight. There is no guarantee they will make a change between when you booked the original flight and when you fly, so use with caution.

I just did this with my flight home for Christmas. They shifted my flights by five minutes, and now I'm on a flight that leaves in the evening rather than the morning which is what I wanted all along.

Also it should be noted if you try to ask your IT guy questions in the bathroom, even if washing his hands, you're stuck at the back of the line for everything for the foreseeable future..... Or until you bribe us with kolaches

Regarding car rentals, make a reservation for the SMALLEST CAR THEY OFFER. Odds are they will not have a car in that class in stock when you get there so you automatically get a free upgrade.

Nah.

Pig in a blanket is those little flavorless weenies.

These are actually klobenesks but we flipped the name. When we spread them around Texas.

Texas has a huge German and Czech population. The fruit things are really.kolaches but we all call them the same thing. Meat is most common. But mixing in Louisiana/east Texas to get a Boudain kolaches is acceptable too.

You haven't lived fam

Safeway

When you go up to the check stands to pay, you need to scope out a few things to make your checkout experience smooth and fast.

First, look at the checkers. Avoid checkers over the age of 40 and also overweight checkers. They're the slowest by a wide margin. They will ring everything up really slow and talk your ear off.

Second, look at the customers in line. Avoid lanes with elderly customers. They move super slow and almost always either pay with a check or they will dig around for 5 minutes until they find exactly 67 cents to hand the cashier.

Third, avoid lines with a mother that has a newborn or multiple kids. 9/10 they will have multiple WIC checks that they are using and that 1 customer could take 10+ minutes.

Here is a secret you might not know. OhWhopDaChamp @MelE5150 im just sayin. So I just ended a decade of employment with one of the worlds largest wineries. Here is a little known fact for you wine drinkers out there. In every bottle of wine that is produced (at least in the states) it only has to contain 10 percent of grapes from its advertised origion. Just as an example, if we recieved 1000 gallons of juice from Australia, or Napa we would blend it in with 9000 gallons of juice (usually bulk grapes of shitty quality, grown in the Central Valley) and then put it in the bottle, slap a label and stab a cork in it. The label would say its a Napa wine, or from Australia. Yes that is kind of true, at least 10 percent of it did. There is nothing on the label to imply anything different. The consumer thinks they are getting 100 percent Napa wine. Its legal.

Theres all kinds of tricks they pull. Another example. I have seen 3 different brands (all owned by the company I worked for) pull from the same tank and bottle the same exact wine. So that they hit their price point market, 1 label sells for $5, another for $10 and the third for $15 per bottle. There is absolutely no difference in the finished product. I could go on and on. Basically these are all standard practices in the wine industry.

People like you i made sure to give the worst car in the available fleet. People like you are easily spotted. Guess what? Economy car for hertz = basic yaris or fiat. Guess what car you're getting? A basic as fuck yaris or nisan versa.

I only buy Gallo Pink Moscato from the mineral rich dirt of California that has aged in musky seclusion for no less than 10 days. Don't @ me with gossip from a inferior label. Gallo tweeted me once. They value my platelets :expressionless: :unamused:
