This is a quote from Gasper he posted in the thread about if fighters should be allowed to fight for other orgs and is in response to someone saying that fighters are independent contractors.
However, here you say that the UFC is not a monopoly, yet there you are saying they are the only place to make money. That seems pretty contradictory to me. Also do you realize that part of the lawsuits is that fighters are independent contractors, but are being treated like employees - this gives the UFC the best of both worlds, they get all the benefits that you would get from having employees, but don't have to provide the benefits to those employees because in name they are independent contractors?
Yet, according to you none of the lawsuit is compelling. In one thread you're bashing the lawsuit, and another fluffing the UFC's right to take advantage of the people who work for them, because 'every other successful company' is doing 'exactly' the same. Which isn't true, Microsoft again lost a lawsuit to employees who were told they were independent contractors, but were treated like employees. Here is an article on it if you like
