In completely unrelated news, Trump won the Republican nomination on May 3, 2017. In June, Mar-a-Lago initiation fees rose from $100k to $150k.
Trump took office in November 2017. On January 1st 2018, initiation fees for Mar a Lago went from $100k/year, to $200k.
