Not bad, hope you get some rain

We are still 6 weeks from real rainfall most likely
Gonna heat up for the next two weeks then taper to perfect temps with cool nights

Is that normal or usually for you guys to be hitting 35+ up there? If so, how many days/weeks per year? It’s obviously the norm here for 5-6 months of the year, but I always assumed that was extreme up your way. I imagine a lot of people don’t even have AC in their homes. Am I off base?

the newest climate models are showing that a lot of new areas in North America will be experiencing more of those temps over the next few decades. Not consistently, but higher frequency than the historic data (which in some places may just be occasionally).

have you guys been having wildfires as of late? They’ve been popping off all over around here, couple of pretty decent ones so far. Got some rain today, but it won’t be near enough to get us out of our deficit.

normal summer weather would be about 32-33 and its not uncommon to go all of july and august without rainfall. pretty much everyone has A/C . 35+ we dont get too often , maybe for a few days around the end of july .beginning of august .we were well in to the 40s last summer . i think it topped out around 46c (114 F) .that is super rare though. a few hours away in vancouver nobody has A/C and its much cooler and wetter . a hot day for them is 26c(80F) . i live in the nice part of canada . its all beaches and boats here in the summer. we sit on a 120km long lake

they pretty much compare us to northern california wine country . if i say there is 100 wineries in the valley it is probably a underestimation

At 6 AM - still dark out - we had a bolt of lightning hit real close to the house. I didn't even know it was storming out - no warning rumbles or anything. I was getting coffee going and the entire house lit up and BOOM!. Scared the shit out of me.

I went out to the screened-in porch to make sure there wasn't a fire or a downed tree and I could smell the ozone. Not sure where it hit - but it was close as fuck.

Supposed to pour here today which sucks. Got the deck all ready to go, added two TV mounts under the pergola. Had planned to watch college football out there all day today.

Had some wild weather, hail killed my sunroom.
Saw a lightning strike about 200 meters from me, that's a new one.

Pacific Northwest is going to get Hammered by Rain and Wind the next 3 days
Coastline, Coastal Range, and Cascades could get 7-10 inches of rain in 72 hours

My location will only get 2 inches or so

Steady winds of 30-40 mph and gusts up to 70-90

Consider the drought over and the Reservoirs full and spilling over

Rainfall

Wind

68 degrees today and dipping into upper 40's tonight. Too cold for my blood. I only get 5 months of what I consider decent weather in my climate. I'd love equator weather year round, minus the 90% humidity.
