I don't support either candidate, don't get me wrong, but I've been hearing the polls are wrong. That they're over-sampling certain demographics and that my Ameribros are in for yet another 2014 Congressional election / Brexit / wtv all the other recent examples are.
Gunna be weird.
after my boys mccain and romney failed, i really questioned whether the republican party had a shot anytime in the near future without changing their stances toward a few things. and 4 years later, i still think its an incredibly hard sell for a republican to become president. granted, im not well-versed in how quickly states may swing between colors. but it just seems like a stretch for a republican to win based off the electoral college.
if they cant win this year, against someone as disliked as hillary... id expect them to change. actually, no... im giving them too much credit lol
My Political Stance Background in case that impacts how you read the above:
whoa! i underlined! hahaha
i was an uber fiscal/monetary conservative most my life. preached text book economics and was probably the cliche annoying right winger that would get heated in online debates since i was SO set on conservative policies being the only correct choice and everything else is evil, since the politicians know better
but a year or two ago, i started questioning if the world actually works the way textbooks say it does. and i dont think it does. i also finally stopped denying the reality of climate change. so this is the first election in my life that i swung left. and far left. i went from saying that there isnt a republican as conservative as i would like in office to being on team bernie, both for his character and policy stances
now before any right wingers get mad at me, the biggest change wasnt the swing from extreme right to extreme left, but rather going from closed-minded to open-minded. im not saying anyone is closed-minded for still being on the right. jsut saying that when i was on the right, most my life, i was closed-minded. i dont know if my views now are correct; i am open to learning and changing as the world changes. i see pros/cons to arguments from both sides. and best of all, im finally seeing things as gray, both inside and outside politics. =)
