There's a family down the street that has a 10ft x 10 ft piece of plywood painted white and "PROUD DEPLORABLE" in red. Almost brought a tear to me eye. I'd have to buy them a beer if I ever run into them.

So I'm hearing a couple of things.

The biggest winners on the stock market over there since the election are.. banks. Huh. The establishment is trembling.
He wants to drain the swamp but has people around him that are the swamp. Chris Christy even looks like one.
Yet there seems to be chaos regarding his cabinet as of now.. people are 'going'.
Smh @ making the breitbart dude a bigshot.
Another show-act in meeting Farage first. That would be like a new chief elsewhere meeting Sarah Palin first. Is she even doing anything nowadays? Ridiculous.

It is an interesting conundrum.

Printing there's chaos, hes getting top secret clearances for his family,etc...then it's just "sources say". He says no. And if it doesn't happen, at which point does the false accusation get penalized? By the consumer? ( Remember the Maine gentleman...)

If those things aren't true, it doesn't matter. The modern journalism can feed itself.
Post a tip, let it spread, pick it up in the echo chamber.

Now I'm not sure that's what the NYT has done, but nothing is sources. And I get it, we don't have to have that conversation.

But it does beg the question, is it okay to question the press laws as Trump did?

In a hyper active paced and consolidated modern press, there seems as much potential for abuse by the papers as the authoritarian abuse of silencing them.

I just read a variety so I can sense trends. They all copy each other and source random authors to get their clicks.

I do read things like NYT and WSJ pretty often because of the writing quality. But I trust no one lol.

If Newt Gingrich gets a place in this administration, watch out. Besides his coziness with the tech industry and all that portends for privacy and his space fantasies that will make any human space program only accessible to the ultra rich, he is also now an open advocate for McCarthy era surveillance and reporting on a segment of the population that could easily grow.
