When you're advocating for illegals to be treated as legal immigrants, when you're actively trying to stop the government from enforcing border laws, when you're campaigning against securing the borders... you are advocating for open borders.

I know most liberals don't have the honesty to openly say those words, but what other conclusion can you draw?
If only everything was that simple. Not everything is black or white. Right vs Left. Us vs them. Many variations and options in between.

One can disagree with the way the govt is enforcing the laws without going to the extent of calling for open boarders. One can campaign against Trump's wall or policy of separating children from their parents without going to the extend of advocating for open boarders.

Keep on playing the simple minded identity politics game.

If I said "there's no such thing as rape, sex is sex" and I advocated against criminal charges for rapists... I imagine I'd be accused of advocating rape pretty quickly. It's the same kind of thing. If you don't want illegals to be deported, you don't want border security, you don't want America enforcing immigration laws... what's the difference between that and having open borders?
This is a poor attempt at a comparison and so littered with logical fallacies you should be embarrassed you even posted this dribble.

The NRA gets busted in bed with a Russian spy and the next week this law is passed?

America, you crazy!

The government is making it easier for “dark money” donors to go unnamed
The Treasury Department on Monday said it planned to end requirements that certain tax-exempt organizations identify their financial contributors on their tax returns.

The decision means groups such as the National Rifle Association, Planned Parenthood, and the AARP will no longer have to tell the IRS who’s giving them money.

Reminder: Prosecutor Said ‘Trump’s Son Should be Concerned’ About Wiretaps of Butina’s Alleged Handler
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has received wiretaps obtained by Spanish police which implicate Donald Trump Jr. in a plot to meet with Alexander Torshin, a high-ranking official of Russia’s Central Bank, according to a federal prosecutor in Spain. And, the prosecutor notes, those wiretaps don’t bode well for the president’s son.

The above information was originally reported in May of this year but is receiving revived interest across social media because Torshin is said to have been the handler of alleged Russian agent Mariia “Maria” Butina. Butina was recently arrested on charges of attempting to influence U.S. politics and policy on the Kremlin’s behalf.
How about that, a Trump Jr connection to the Russian Spy recently arrested.

Intelligence officials showed Trump classified proof Putin ordered election interference: report
President Trump was reportedly shown highly classified information more than a year ago proving that Russian President Vladimir Putin personally ordered cyberattacks to interfere with the U.S. presidential election.

The New York Times reported on Wednesday that Trump was shown the information at a briefing weeks before his inauguration. The documents he was shown included texts and emails from Russian military officers, as well as information from a source close to Putin, according to the Times.

Trump says Russia doesn’t pose threat, contradicting intelligence director
President Trump on Wednesday said Russia does not pose a threat to the United States, contradicting his director of national intelligence on a critical security issue and deepening a political controversy that began at his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump, besieged with criticism over his perceived deference to Putin at the summit, for a second day sought to do damage control on the crisis, stating that no one had been tougher than he on Russia.

“There has never been a president as tough on Russia as I have been," Trump told reporters before a Cabinet meeting at the White House.

The president said his administration is “doing very well” in countering Russia, citing U.S. sanctions on Moscow and the expulsion of Russian nationals accused of being spies.

“I think President Putin knows that better than anybody, certainly a lot better than the media. He understands it, and he's not happy about it,” Trump said.

But seconds later, Trump said “no” when asked if Russia still poses a threat to the U.S.

Yeah. Obama was real tough on Russia.
Ask the people of Crimea how impressed they are with this picture.
Ask the people of Russia how impressed they are with the crippling sanctions he dropped on their dome for annexing Crimea.

Have those sanctions helped the people of Crimea?
Sanctions are not meant to help victims. They're meant to punish. Consequently, Russia is not annexing anyone else anytime soon..... (unless Trump removes them as instructed in his secret meeting with the emperor).

What's stopping them?
Existing sanctions.
The threat of more sanctions.
The lasting sting of being kicked out of the G8.
Otherwise he'd be steamrolling Donbass republic and the rest of Ukraine.

Regardless of anyone's political standing....articles like this should be embarrassing.

She did not say he was lying. She said he didn't appreciate the importance of her job so she felt like he was lying.

She said that his lack of understanding and respect for official stenographers ..
"I felt like he was lying to the American people."
And many people feel the same way (backed with evidence) so what's your point?

Seriously?

Title implies that stenographer says Trump was lying to the American people.

But she actually states that she "felt" like he was lying.

You don't see a difference in meaning of the two?

New York Is Said to Open Tax Inquiry Into Trump Foundation
The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance has opened an investigation into whether the Donald J. Trump Foundation violated state tax laws, a move that could lead to a criminal referral for possible prosecution, according to two state officials familiar with the inquiry.

The officials would not say when the investigation started, or what activities it may be scrutinizing. But it seemed likely that the inquiry may cover some of the same issues raised by the New York attorney general, Barbara D. Underwood, in a lawsuit filed against the Trump Foundation last month.

The attorney general’s lawsuit accused the foundation of violating campaign finance laws, self-dealing and illegally coordinating with the Trump presidential campaign. It seeks to dissolve the foundation, recover millions of dollars in restitution and temporarily bar President Trump and three of his children from serving in leadership positions at any nonprofit operating in New York.

A criminal inquiry could reveal additional information beyond the scope of the lawsuit, such as the president’s tax returns. If the investigation found possible criminal activity, it could then refer its findings to a law enforcement agency, such as the state attorney general’s office or a district attorney. That agency could present the findings to a grand jury, according to the two officials, both senior members of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s office, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to protect an active investigation.

Mr. Trump has admitted using the foundation’s money to contribute to political causes. He was also accused of using its funds to settle business disputes, failing to disburse funds to charities to which he said he had given large amounts of money and claiming credit for donations that had actually come from other groups.

Mr. Cuomo, who is facing a vigorous Democratic primary challenge from Cynthia Nixon, has been under pressure to issue a criminal referral to Ms. Underwood, without which she cannot independently initiate a criminal case.

Zephyr Teachout, a candidate for attorney general, has for several weeks called on the governor to give Ms. Underwood the authority to pursue a criminal investigation; an online petition pushed Mr. Cuomo to do the same. Alphonso David, the governor’s counsel, said on Wednesday the office was prepared to issue a referral if asked.

But the attorney general’s office has suggested that it may not be interested in pursuing a criminal investigation at the moment. In filing the lawsuit last month, the office also sent referral letters to the Internal Revenue Service and the Federal Election Commission for possible further action, including potential criminal charges.

A criminal referral could, in fact, be counterproductive to the attorney general’s lawsuit, by giving Mr. Trump’s lawyers reason to seek a stay in the civil case and thus delay those proceedings.

“We continue to evaluate the evidence to determine what additional actions may be warranted, and will seek a criminal referral from the appropriate state agency as necessary,” said Amy Spitalnick, the communications director for Ms. Underwood.

It is too early to say whether the tax department’s findings would be referred to the attorney general or a district attorney, one of the Cuomo administration officials said.

In the past, when the state attorney general’s office has brought tax-related criminal actions, they have typically related to issues such as tax evasion. And while New York’s tax department refers about 10 cases to law enforcement each month, those referrals have typically gone to district attorneys, rather than the attorney general.

But the New York attorney general’s office has become a locus of liberal resistance — both rhetorical and legal — to Mr. Trump in recent years. Eric T. Schneiderman, the now-disgraced former attorney general, extracted a $25 million settlement from Mr. Trump related to Trump University, and Ms. Underwood, Mr. Schneiderman’s successor, has accused the president of “undermining the rule of law.” She has also declared her support for changing New York’s double-jeopardy law so that state and local prosecutors could still bring criminal charges against the president’s aides, even if he pardoned them.

And Mr. Cuomo has made attacking Mr. Trump a centerpiece of his rhetoric in recent months, promising a host of lawsuits against the president’s policies and denouncing him in speech after speech.

Ask the people of Russia how impressed they are with the crippling sanctions he dropped on their dome for annexing Crimea.

Don't forget that Trump immediately looked into removing Russian sanctions after inauguration.

Whistleblower: Flynn told colleague on Inauguration Day removing Russia sanctions was a priority - CNNPolitics
"The business colleague who texted with Flynn later recounted that he also suggested sanctions against Russia would be "ripped up" as one of the administration's first acts, according to the whistleblower."

Former diplomats: Trump team sought to lift sanctions on Russia
"The Trump administration was gearing up to lift sanctions on Russia when the president took office, but career diplomats ginned up pressure in Congress to block the move, two senior former State Department officials said"

Nikki Haley made an announcement about new sanctions. Trump reversed the decision after Russia denounced it as "international economic raiding."

Trump puts the brakes on new Russian sanctions, reversing Haley’s announcement
“You will see that Russian sanctions will be coming down. Secretary Mnuchin will be announcing those on Monday, if he hasn’t already. And they will go directly to any sort of companies that were dealing with equipment related to Assad and chemical weapons used. And so I think everyone is going to feel it at this point. I think everyone knows that we sent a strong message, and our hope is that they listen to it.”

"After Haley’s comments, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters in Moscow that the sanctions were a U.S. ploy to oust Russia from international markets and constituted “undisguised attempts of unfair competition.”"

"Trump conferred with his national security advisers later Sunday and told them he was upset the sanctions were being officially rolled out because he was not yet comfortable executing them, according to several people familiar with the plan."

"Sometime after Haley’s comments on CBS, the Trump administration notified the Russian Embassy in Washington that the sanctions were not in fact coming, a Russian Foreign Ministry official said Monday."

"The Trump team decided to publicly characterize Haley’s announcement as a misstatement."

"But other administration officials expressed skepticism that Haley had merely misspoken. They said Haley is one of the most disciplined and cautious members of the Cabinet, especially when it comes to her public appearances. She regularly checks in with Trump personally to go over her planned statements before she sits for television interviews"

Another instance of Trump being frustrated about statements concerning Russian sanctions.

"Shortly after Trump’s inauguration, Haley delivered a speech at the United Nations that recommitted the White House to the Obama administration’s policy on sanctions related to Russian aggression in Ukraine. The speech was cleared by David Cattler, then a senior official on the National Security Council, but the remarks frustrated Trump, who demanded to know who had approved them."

“Lots of people got yelled at – some by the president,” said a U.S. official at the United Nations. Cattler, in turn, was pushed out of his job a couple of weeks later."

Sanctions passed by Congress were never implemented.

Trump administration holds off on new Russia sanctions, despite law
"The Trump administration said on Monday it would not immediately impose additional sanctions on Russia, despite a new law designed to punish Moscow’s alleged meddling in the 2016 U.S. election, insisting the measure was already hitting Russian companies."

“Today, we have informed Congress that this legislation and its implementation are deterring Russian defense sales,” State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in a statement. “Since the enactment of the ... legislation, we estimate that foreign governments have abandoned planned or announced purchases of several billion dollars in Russian defense acquisitions.”

President Trump lied more than 3,000 times in 466 days
has been keeping a strict count of President Donald Trump's many misstatements, untruths and outright lies. And, over the weekend at a rally in Michigan, Trump hit a(nother) milestone: He topped 3,000 untrue or misleading statements in 466 days in office.

How about that, an average of 6.5 lies per day while in office.

These podcasts by Preet Bharara provide some great insight into how Putin operates.

Preet Bharara is an American lawyer who served as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York from 2009 to 2017. As a U.S. Attorney, Bharara earned a reputation of a "crusader" prosecutor. According to The New York Times, during his tenure he was one of "the nation's most aggressive and outspoken prosecutors of public corruption and Wall Street crime." Under Bharara, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York prosecuted nearly 100 Wall Street executives for insider trading and other offenses. He reached historic settlements and fines with the four largest banks in the United States, and closed multi billion dollar hedge funds for activities including insider trading.

"Putin’s propaganda is different. It’s more like cult of death. It’s not about positive future. Actually, there’s no future at all. It’s all about Russia being the besieged fortress surrounded by the global evil, and he, Vladimir Putin, is the only savior of Mother Russia from its multiple enemies. It’s poisonous. It’s totally brainwashing. And it has no positive substance." -Kasparov
