Today I said to my mother "if you don't stop buying the wrong flavor of Papa Giuseppe's pizza, I'm going to lynch you like the insubordinate plantation fuckslave that you are, f aggot."

Now, I fully admit this just could be because Australians are horribly racist cunts, but 'lynch mob' in the way Donnie used is a normal and common phrase. It has some bad connotations and probably shouldn't be used, but if you were to lynch everyone that said lynch mob in a completely non-racial context here, you'd run out of rope.
Agreed. I actually have no problem with either person using it (even though I wouldnt). I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of a few posters here.

And we finally get to the core of the argument. People think that the Republicans are just covering for Trump to ensure personal re-election, but it goes beyond that. People like Barr aren't just interested in propping up old tiny hands for short-term gain - he has long been part of a project that wants to see the Presidency and his executive turned into essentially a dictatorship. The Presidency as it stands was established as essentially a constitutional monarch anyway, but many don't believe it went far enough. They want Congress and the Supreme Court completely neutered and to be simply rubber stamps for the executive.

A large segment of the Republican party and a smaller but not insignificant section of the Democrats are fundamentally anti-democratic. It's not just about short-term gerrymandering, voter suppression and election rigging for personal gain, it's also a strongly-held ideology that sees democracy and the will of the people as a threat.

The thing is, most people don't care about democracy. As long as their team is winning, they don't give a shit. You would think the President trying to enshrine his ability to murder people in constitutional law would set off alarm bells, but it won't. Not even Putin or Xi Jinping would outright claim they have the legal right to murder people on the streets. Yet here you are, America. And none of you will care - until, of course, the other team starts winning.

Republicans storm secure room during closed-door impeachment deposition
https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/impeachment-stormed-secure-room-republicans-trump-1.5332642
Republicans managed to bring the U.S. House Democrats' impeachment investigation to a halt on Wednesday as around two dozen Republican House members stormed into a closed-door deposition with a Defence Department official. Democrats said the move compromised national security as some of them brought electronic devices into a secure room.

The Republican manoeuvre delayed a deposition with Laura Cooper, a senior Defence Department official who oversees Ukraine policy, until midafternoon. The interview began roughly five hours behind schedule, after a security check by Capitol officials.

As a series of diplomats have been interviewed in the probe, several of them detailing U.S. President Donald Trump's efforts to persuade Ukraine to investigate a political rival, many Republicans have been silent on the president's behaviour. But they have been outspoken about their disdain for Democrats and the impeachment process, saying it is unfair to them even though they have been in the room questioning witnesses and hearing the testimony.

"The members have just had it and they want to be able to see and represent their constituents and find out what's going on," said Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, the top Republican on the House oversight and reform panel. That committee is one of three leading the investigation, and its members are allowed into the closed-door hearings.

Democrats deny that Republicans are being treated unfairly, noting they have had equal time to question witnesses and full access to the meetings. But they said the lawmakers — several of whom do not sit on one of the three committees — had compromised security at the closed-door deposition. The interviews are being held in what is called a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility, or SCIF, which is a totally secure room where members can hear classified information.

Several lawmakers leaving the facility said that some of the Republicans had brought their phones, even though electronics are not allowed. All members of Congress are familiar with the protocol of the SCIF, since they are often invited to classified briefings, and there are several such rooms around the Capitol.

Lawmakers described a chaotic scene. Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz said she had just walked into the room when the Republican lawmakers blew past Capitol Police officers and Democratic staffers. The staff member who was checking identification at the entrance was "basically overcome" by the Republicans, she said.

"Literally some of them were just screaming about the president and what we're doing to him and that we have nothing and just all things that were supportive of the president," Wasserman Schultz said.

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham criticized his Republican colleagues for the tactic, calling them "nuts" to make a "run on the SCIF."

"That's not the way to do it," he said.

The Republicans decried that the deposition was happening behind closed doors and said Americans should be able to read the transcripts of any interviews being conducted as part of impeachment.

Rep. Steve Scalise, the second-highest ranked House Republican, said Democrats are running a "Soviet-style process" that should "not be allowed in the United States of America."

"We're not going to be bullied," he said.

Democrats have promised to release the transcripts when it won't affect their investigation, and House intelligence committee chair Adam Schiff has pushed back on the criticism of the depositions.

Schiff said in a letter to colleagues last week that "the majority and minority have been provided equal staff representation and time to question witnesses, who have stayed until the majority and the minority have asked all of their questions — often late into the evening."

Several Republicans appeared to be tweeting from the secure room. North Carolina Rep. Mark Walker tweeted: "UPDATE: We are in the SCIF and every GOP Member is quietly listening." Georgia Rep. Buddy Carter wrote that "my Republican colleagues and I just stormed the impeachment hearing room and finally got in."

Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs retweeted some of his colleagues but followed up with a clarification: "All tweets sent out when I'm in the SCIF are being transmitted to staff for publication," he wrote.

The standoff came the day after a top U.S. diplomat testified that he was told Trump withheld military aid to Ukraine until the country's president went public with a promise to investigate Democrats. Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu of California said Republicans didn't want to hear from Cooper because they were "freaked out" by what (acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine) William Taylor told lawmakers.

"They know more facts are going to be delivered that are absolutely damning to the president of the United States," Lieu said.

As some members remained in the room, Democratic Rep. Steven Lynch said Democrats shouldn't call security to remove the Republicans because it would be "theatrics."

"Just having members hauled off, even though it might give some people great pleasure, I think we just have to handle it in a better fashion," Lynch said. "Hopefully, with some deliberations, cooler heads will prevail."

Trump: ‘We’re building a wall in Colorado’
And we’re building a wall in Colorado. We’re building a beautiful wall. A big one that really works — that you can’t get over, you can’t get under,” Trump said during a speech at the Shale Insight Conference in Pittsburgh.

Joe se olvidó de los latinos

Trump campaign scoops up Biden's Latino voter web address, trolls his voter outreach
Trump campaign scoops up Biden's Latino voter web address, trolls his voter outreach
It didn't take long for the Trump campaign to figure out how to troll Joe Biden moments after the former vice president's campaign announced a Latino voter outreach program on Wednesday.

Biden, who spent the day campaigning across Pennsylvania and Iowa, announced "Todos Con Biden," a "national network of Latino supporters" working to help elect the former vice president earlier on Wednesday.

But there's one problem. The Biden campaign failed to purchase www.todosconbiden.com, or even lock down the @TodosConBiden Twitter handle before announcing the new effort -- prompting the president's reelection team to do what it does best: troll.

Now, the Trump campaign is using www.todosconbiden.com to mock the former vice president, with a landing page that says in both English and Spanish, "Oops, Joe forgot about Latinos." The page also links out to the president's own Latino outreach coalition "Latinos for Trump." And the @TodosConBiden Twitter account, in the possession of the Trump campaign, has already begun posting unflattering counter messaging targeting Biden.

This is a new chapter. The "republican" president of the United States, is calling republicans "human scum".
Let that sink in.
He is like a old man that says inappropriate things at the Thanksgiving dinner table except he has social media and is the president.

100 ISIS prisoners are now at large — 'We do not know where they are,' a US official says
100 ISIS prisoners are now at large — 'We do not know where they are,' a US official says
  • James Jeffrey, the US Special Representative for Syria and global head of the coalition to defeat ISIS, said Wednesday that more than 100 ISIS fighters had escaped detention since Turkey invaded northeast Syria.
  • "We would say that the number is now over 100. We do not know where they are," Jeffrey said when asked if the US knew where the fighters were or if the US could monitor them without US forces present.
