In our school a group of us couldn't walk because of an innocent senior prank. Man, times have changed
Same, I almost didn't walk because I finished my final exam in 10 minutes, I turned it upside down on my desk and asked to go to the bathroom, I bolted out the backdoor. Fuck sitting there for another 50 minutes. Teacher told me the next day I failed because I didn't turn my test in. I told her I was emancipated and I signed an excuse earlier in the day for a doctor's appointment. She gave me final grade to walk.

Being emancipated as a senior was pretty sweet. I would write a note, please excuse kvr for being late, signed kvr.

I had perfected my stepdads signature, to the point my handwriting still looks like his.

Then I realized it didn't matter and they didn't care.
I dropped out the day I turned 18.

I may or may not have signed a bill of sale from my father to me after he passed for his motorcycle to clear up some issues. I was able to copy it perfectly since I was 8. I told my dad when I was like 13 and he didn't believe me, so I showed him. He was shocked and said you better not use that for anything bad.

I didn't dad.

Did you receive 40 acres and a mule the day you were emancipated?

Charging him with 1st is gonna lead him to beat the case lol
When that cop was on trial for killing George Floyd, I seem to remember that he was charged with more than one thing? So first degree murder, and also at least one lesser? Again purely from memory.

I recall having a conversation about it on here, as I was surprised to learn that the prosecution could charge him for multiple levels for the same crime, and catch him on the lesser charge if he wasn't found guilty of first degree murder. That's not the way it works where I live (UK).

Does that sort of thing vary from state to state?

I've also seen some say they overcharged this guy but others have said that in the state of Texas it's basically one fits all for the murder charge so there isn't levels of charges they can stack for that...
