Fuck I forgot about this thread, good bumping.

We got our camping for the first time this year on Easter weekend. We went to the little town of Hedley in southern BC. Crazy weather we had. In the span of about 5 hours we'd get sun, rain, snow, hail then back to sun. Highs around 14°C lows at night were -6°C. We're right on a river which has great fishing but it's was super fast during our stay.

I took my dirt bike out the first day but riding passenger the next day was a blast. We had 7 side by sides in our group.

About 1.5 hour climb with us breaking trail half the half to get up here

Favourite picture from the weekend

This home built 2WD is insane. He could climb up places I had trouble hiking up for real. Snow's it's weakness we found out.

Not too shabby

We just bought a travel trailer and when we aren't pulling it somewhere, it will be parked about 35 min from our house right next to Devil's Lake in Wisconsin. There is a bunch of stuff for the kids to do and some great places to hike and kayak. I just built the fire-pit the other day and can't wait to use it.
Nice! How's the new set up treating the family?

Lol

I'm not a beer guy in the sense that I always have my fridge stocked. I get drunk maybe 8 times a year tops so I just get whatever for day drinks and put more effort into ones like the Yellow Dog for later in in the night. But ya it's an easy going day drink and I look an old man with it. I can live with that.

We actually haven't stayed up there yet. As soon as I set it up, I had to go to work for a few days. We'll be going up there this weekend. The kids have only been up there for a few hours at a time, but the love it and it wears them out. It's called a "Glampground"

I'm not really a "beer guy" either. I used to be, and I still drink beer, but way way less than I used to. About the only time I drink beer nowadays is on the tailgate right after a mountain bike ride.

I have some Miller High Life in my fridge, so I shouldn't be casting stones lol. It's good to have some easy drinking beer on hand. Banquet beer reminds me of what my grandpa and his cronies would drink way back when.

Ain't nothing wrong with Coors. Any beer by a fire is a good beer, imo.

Coors was my first beer, so I like it.

Here's a couple more from the hike today.

Because the girl got crushed by a tree, they are still clearing out and I spoke to the park rangers today. They said the cedar stumps we were talking about were cut down in 1920, making them 100 year old stumps.
Yesterday there were a few six point bucks running around the area.

Did they confirm they were Cedar? I love talking to park rangers. Those fuckers know everything.

Yes, definitely Cedars.
There's an old growth forest at South Whidbey Island State Park that we're going to take a trip through the weekend of the 5th 6th and 7th.
He said the trees were massive, some over 600 years old.
Giant Douglas Firs, Sequoia's, and Cedars.
. I'm sure I'll feel this thread up with those pictures.

Great weekend. Sun-filled days followed by perfectly cool, occasionally rainy nights. It made for some muddy hiking but I'm not complaining. And my tent footprint stayed completely dry.
