GOP Women's Group Shuns 'Carnival Barkers' Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert
The Value In Electing Women Political Action Committee has lent its support to every Republican woman currently serving in the United States Congress and Senate, with a notable deviation in the cases of Greene from Georgia and Boebert from Colorado. It's an exception Julie Conway, VIEW PAC's executive director said was "intentional."

"While we rightfully celebrate the number of GOP women serving in the House, I've always professed quality over quantity," Conway told Business Insider Wednesday in an email.

"The work of Congress is not a joke or reality show. Our women have fought too hard for too long to be respected and taken seriously as legislators, policymakers and thought leaders. We cannot let this work be erased by individuals who chose to be shameless self-promoters and carnival barkers."

This is something that everyone should agree upon and yet he keeps getting elected...

Must be fraud ?
How much is he winning his elections by?

I honestly don't doubt that fraud occurs in many elections. Often between candidates of the same party.
It doesn't have to be a left right thing.

The insistence that fraud hasn't regularly occurred in our election process is just the opposite side of the ridiculous coin IMO.

I think that there's always some degree of shenanigans involved in large scale elections but I also think it's mostly a negligible amount.

The most fruitful election fraud is definitely on local levels and probably even to get the nomination as fewer fraudulent votes are needed to actually swing things one way or another.

How many times this week are Republicans going to get caught saying they hate democracy and are working to block the peoples will?

Rick Santorum caught on tape saying Republicans 'don't want the people's will to be done immediately'
  • Santorum was taped saying Republicans don't want Democrats carrying out the public's wishes.
  • "No. No, no, no, we don't want the people's will to be done immediately," he says.
  • He also urges activists to flood Manchin's and Sinema's offices with calls thanking them.

Hauler @Hauler

There's 'little sign' that ending unemployment benefits early pushed people back to work, JPMorgan says

A Friday note from JPMorgan researchers Peter B McCrory and Jesse Edgerton looks at the impact on unemployment claims and spending following states officially opting out of their benefits.

They find that there's "little sign of any differential improvement in unemployment claims or in several spending and activity measures in these states." There's perhaps a little jolt in spending on restaurants — which could be chalked up to workers returning to staff up eateries — but even that estimation might still be closer to no effect.

Ends bennies...
Checks figures 5 minutes later.

"Told you! It wasn't the issue. Nothing changed."

Bennies started ending a month ago in red states.

Interesting how you quoted an article on here in late June that backed up your beliefs as proof but 3 weeks later when an article opposed your beliefs, you claim it’s too soon to know.

What article did I quote?
It's likely too early to see any significant changes on a statistics level.

There's also the possibility that folks saved some of that free money and they don't have to rush back to employment.

On a personal level, I am 100% seeing more applicants and they are actually showing up for interviews.

The article stating yanking benefits appears to be leading to more applicants.

You do love that anecdotal evidence.

I do.
But at least I qualified it this time. ?
How are you so certain the uptick in applicants you’re seeing is due to benefits being yanked and not the fact you raised your wages and have started including hiring bonuses?

Biden Moves To Restrict Noncompete Agreements, Saying They're Bad For Workers
This is excellent.
I have always refused non
compete clauses. They are everywhere in medicine.
I had a hospital in the middle of Houston try to give me a 15 mile non-compete. It's a 30 mi in diameter circle.

That encompasses all of uptown and the three largest fastest growing suburban areas of the city as well as midtown and the most affluent portions of downtown.

I work for you and then I'm shut out of the marketplace?
The commute time from one side of that circle to the other can easily be an hour and a half on multiple different roads and directions.

I hope they go after arbitration clauses next. Forcing me to give up my future rights in order to participate in the marketplace is wrong.

Non compete clauses don’t seem in line with capitalist values and open competition. Good on Biden for fighting those dirty socialist policies!

while I’m not exactly against this move by Biden (I can see the pros and cons of both sides), I’m not sure how forcing a business to stop protecting their intellectual property is fighting socialism. It seems that if anything it would promote it, and even that’s a stretch.

We increased wages about 6 months ago. Hiring bonuses were about 3 months ago. Not much impact. Uptick in applicants started about 3 to 4 weeks ago.

Had a couple applicants recently say something along the lines of "I guess it's time to get back to work"

Anecdotal, I know. But I trust my eyes better than my ears.

I was always told non-competes rarely hold up in court.

I agree it's a good thing to get rid of them altogether. Handcuffing an individual to a company isn't a good thing.
