I don't know what conversations are running around in your head, but I'm pretty sure this was about a bill introducing a 4-day workweek.

Maybe reread bruv
All laws operate with the overarching threat of violence. In this case its "Give them a paid day off or else"

Lulz.

I have 35 paid days off. I'm not a thief.

Also you said yourself to Bezos' case, if he acquires it legally, it's fair. Would making and bringing thru a bill not absolutely fulfill the premise of it being legal?

If you wanna talk about laws and regulations being morally questionable that is another discussion, and one where you certainly don't want to be on Bezos' side to argue everything he does legally is morally okay.
It uses the threat of violence anyway!

exactly. without getting into it in detail, i believe that unchecked capitalism is unethical and dangerous

and yes, there are some checks and balances. but not nearly enough

Bezos is a great example: quick google search shows that he earns $3,716 per hour. thats insane

just kidding. he makes that per minute

just kidding. he makes that per second

the current system is just a modern version of feudalism (maybe not that word. but you get the point)
Well played.

I know you're not the thief. The government is the thief. Punitive legislation against Bezos would also be morally problematic.

I'm all for it, but we have a 5 day work week now and I work most Saturdays just to keep my head above water.

I doubt a 4 day work week would actually lead to 3 days off in a row for most.

The government isn't a thief either in this scenario, I get the point you are trying to make, but it's just off and quite a lot of reaching.

It wouldn't be punitive legislation especially against him, would it?

And things change all the time that change conditions in the system. Be it the market, working conditions or anything else. It may be better for some and worse for others.

Also: Do you consider taxation theft?

I was under the impression you have quite a bit of underlings and you spend most of your free time in the woods not spending money.

You really need to work 6 days just to keep your head over the water?
Damn.

Jeez a lot had changed on the last 9 months. I thought under Trump you were doing the best you had been doing in a long time. It really didn’t take Joey long to take you down a peg eh :(

The 6th day is typically work from home, but yeah - I have a lot on my plate.

I've worked a 6 day week for most of my life. Doesn't really matter who is calling the shots.

"Head above water" is not a budget/finance reference.

It's workload.

It's punitive against a larger group than him, I only mentioned him specifically because he had been brought up as the focal point at the outset of the interaction.

Yes. Taxation is theft.

this has nothing to do with the conversation, but for what its worth, when i first joined, i think you were alcohauler

and combined with your humorous and sarcastic posts, i assumed you were a relatively out of control adrenaline/party junkie like me

but over time i realized that you are one of the most driven and stable-minded (if thats a word) people here

and as always, that doesnt say much considering that the rest of us are basically Neanderthals. but still. its something

The public doesn't have any choice in the matter but to use it.
Like the government doesn't have any choice but to tax its citizens?

See how you are, once again, playing silly little word games and trying to deflect and distract, rather than actually participating in a discussion with him?

??

The government doesn't have to tax its citizens.
