Mandatory breathalyzers in all cars.

This bill directs the Department of Transportation (DOT) to prescribe a motor vehicle safety standard that requires passenger motor vehicles manufactured after the effective date of such standard to be equipped with advanced drunk driving prevention technology. Advanced drunk driving prevention technology means a passive system that (1) monitors a driver's performance to identify impairment of a driver, (2) passively detects a blood alcohol level equal to and exceeding .08 blood alcohol content, or (3) detects impairment and prevents or limits vehicle operation.
Gonna be funny as shit when vehicles stop working because they think someone is drunk when they are actually just really shitty drivers.

Get ready for a shit ton of TESLA charging stations in the areas of town that don't have any TESLA cars.
We already have a few of these around here. I'll take a picture the next time I'm over that way. I've never seen a car plugged into one.

This bill requires the Department of Energy (DOE) to support the deployment of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in underserved or disadvantaged communities.

Specifically, DOE must establish an EV Charging Equity Program. Under the program, DOE must provide technical assistance and award grants to increase the deployment and accessibility of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in such communities.
Why the fuck do poor communities need a place to plug in electric vehicles they don't have? DC WASTE.

This money would be better spent on building the community up with shit they do need.
Jobs. Opportunities. Schooling.

LOL @ TESLA charging stations. What a fucking joke.

How many years until major car companies stop producing gas vehicles?

Most have given dates of 20 years or so?

What's that got to do with the price of rice in China?

Install chargers now for cars they *might* have in 20 years?
Hell, the technology might change by then and the stations they waste money on now will be completely obsolete by then.

Lol
On February 10, 1964, the House of Representatives voted in favor of the bill, HR 7152. When the House-passed bill arrived in the Senate on February 26, 1964, Majority Leader Mike Mansfield placed it directly on the Senate calendar rather than refer it to the Judiciary Committee, chaired by civil rights opponent James Eastland of Mississippi. On March 9, when Mansfield moved to take up the measure, southern senators (Democrats) launched a filibuster against the bill. The Senate debated the bill for sixty days, including seven Saturdays.

FWIW - longest filibuster in Senate history.

So your best example is that they passed a bill written by a democrat in another chamber of the legislature.

and big surprise, southerners are racist! Lol

Isn’t spending money on schools in GOP states a universal sin?
no. dumping money in to Teachers' Unions that use the money to kickback to developers and builders instead of teachers and students.

Republicans are in favor of "school choice" and accountability in education. Most of the calls for accountability have to do with the fact that the hierarchy of education is almost exclusively Democratic patrons, but it's a popular plank on the platform.

IMAO - it was the school choice issues that gave Youngkin the win in VA. If the Republicans take ownership of the issue and make it their own, they can make serious gains in the mid-term.

it was the easiest example. All bills start in the House of Representatives, that's how this works.

big surprise, Jews are stingy with facts.

^ see how dumb that sounds. Southerners are not racists.
Remember the 80s, when Joe Biden was arguing FOR racial segregation in schools? Joe Biden is racist.

Let’s bust the unions!!
no, collective bargaining and free association are human rights.

we need to remove the state-sanctioned monopoly that public schools have on labor unions.

Schools are important, bruh.
I don't have kids, but I vote for every school levy that I'm able to.
the issue is not that the schools don't have enough money, it's that they don't spend a high enough percentage of it on things that bring value to the students.

Especially OR, bruh. giving that DOE more money is like trying to smother a fire with gasoline.

Oh well, best just keep pretending that fossil fuel driven cars are going to last forever, and instead of investing in any new infrastructure, repairing old infrastructure or anticipating future needs...... let's just cut taxes on the billionaire class - again - and just give the $1.2 trillion to the 0.1%ers to hoard in their offshore bank accounts.

a bill with more support from Republicans than from Democrats, which would never have been given to the Republican POTUS to sign if the Republicans hadn't stopped the Democratic filibuster.

Big Win for the Big R.
