We're going to vaccinate 3 million people today. This would not be possible with Trump.

There wouldn't be a Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.

There wouldn't be top-down pressure on governors (both direct and indirect).

If you think Biden isn't doing a much better job getting Americans vaccinated, you might be retarded.

I find that difficult to believe. Justin used virtue signaling as a means of electing a cabinet. Can it really get worse than that?
I was referring to covid vaccine rollout.

If you're talking about virtue signalling circle jerk nonsense we're way behind the U.K. Australia and New Zealand.

It's debatable. Your case numbers are also a lot lower than Canada's.

And you're more isolated. Not saying Morrison couldn't have thrown enough money at Pfizer to build a manufacturing facility in Sydney or Melbourne, just that it'd be harder.

Trudeau relied on Chiner (a country with which Canada is currently having diplomatic issues) and U.S.-manufactured vaccines when anyone with a brain knew we weren't going to share shit.

If ScoMo had his way, we would have been overrun with the virus too. He didn't want to do shit to stop the virus initially

The State Premiers just told him to get fucked. They control the show - health, police enforcement powers, quarantine - even though the latter should be a federal thing.

They have been calling Victoria's Premier 'Dictator Dan' throughout this, which although tongue in cheek and hyperbolic, shows that he really is running the show. ScoMo has no authority to tell Dan what to do in many of the most important aspects of virus response.

Also, the 'isolation' angle is a bit overplayed.

Great Britain is an island just like Australia and lots of countries that did well have large borders surrounded by other countries. Obviously countries in the middle of Europe were fucked, as was Canada once the US let it get out of control, but it was only a relative advantage. Any country with any chance of controlling its borders had a fighting chance.

When it was still the 'China virus', Sydney and Melbourne were literally ranked as the 1st and 2nd most vulnerable foreign cities for an initial outbreak. It's not like the virus was really being spread by illegal boat people, it was just people coming in through airports.

I was referring to isolation strictly in terms of vaccine rollout - i.e. getting vaccine manufacturing facilities set up within your borders, which, let's be honest, is the only way to have guaranteed access to vaccines.

It's what the U.S. and the UK did. It's what Canada didn't do, despite being rich enough to afford it. I would have thought that you guys were also rich enough to hand Pfizer a blank check (despite your remoteness) in order to get them to manufacture vaccines in the Sydney or Melbourne metropolitan areas.

We are too retarded to manufacture Pfizer. But we are manufacturing AstraZeneca now.

It's not just about wealth. We have money, but we are also only really used to digging shit out of the ground not creating fancy medicines.

You want to know how retarded Australians are? We refer to ourselves as the 'Lucky country' when literally the academic who coined that phrase used it in this sentence: 'Australia is a lucky country run by second rate people'.
