Obama inherited a shit show. I never inferred otherwise. His recovery could have been much, much better but he didn't create the clusterfuck we had in 2008. That was years in the making.

Like him or not, the economy was killing it under Trump. Could he have been a better leader during the shutdown? Of course. Should he have had a better plan for distributing the vaccine he kicked ass to get? Of course. But the economy getting shut down would have happened regardless of who was in the White House.

Using job loss data due to the Covid shutdown is disingenuous.

The relaxed lending standards fueled the housing growth and corresponding rise in home values. People with bad credit and little-to-no savings were offered loans they could not afford. Meanwhile, banks were repackaging these mortgages and selling them to investors on the secondary market.

Trump inherited a government created bubble as the market never corrected after 08-09. He irresponsibly decided to ride it into the ground because the numbers were an easy sell to morons. Trump dodged a bullet when a pandemic popped the bubble instead of the smoke and mirrors market doing it itself. Of course he then jumped in front of a train called covid.
