Brock Purdy had a rough start in the first half Sunday night, missing some throws that could have gone for big plays. To get back on track, he got back to short passing game:

His air yards dropped from 9.7 in the first half to 4.0 on the second. But his completion rate jumped from 63 to 80 and his off target rate dropped from 31% to 0%.

Entering tonight, the #49ers won 72 straight games when leading by 17-plus points in the 4th quarter, the last loss coming in Week 17 of the 2002 season.

They extended the streak to 73 on Sunday night. Barely.

Almost blew it though. Lucky for us the cowboys chance to win was dependent on Dak Prescott being clutch in the final three minutes.

Dominick Puni’s stats through 8 games (PFF):

• 0 sacks allowed
• 0 quarterback hits
• 14 pressures
• 97.6 pass-blocking efficiency
• 70.0 pass-block grade

The fact that Puni hasn’t allowed his opponent to sack or even hit Brock Purdy at this point in the season is incredible
