Lot of guys on defense are making business decisions now. They should all be cut tomorrow morning.

Cut Wilson and start Fields next season.
Wilson was just a bargain-priced 1 year dude.
Fields is in the last year of his contract. Steelers didn't pick up the 5th year option.

That doesn't mean they can't bring either one of them back, but both are technically free agents right now.

The Steelers will wait to see if other teams sign Fields or Wilson. They aren’t going to over pay for either. If they both leave, don’t be surprised if they look to bring in Aaron Rogers. None of them is the long term answer.

My cousin fucking HATES Tomlin. I think he's a great leader, but his playoff record speaks for itself. It's going to be time to move on soon.
I talk to a lot of Steelers fans in Pittsburgh, because FedEx is one of my largest accounts, and there's no middle ground. People either love Tomlin, or hate him. And most hate him lol.

They take it a little too seriously. I get the impression thr haters feel they'd do a better job in the position. lol

Oh 100%. That’s what being a fan is all about lol. One guy told me “if 10-8 is what you want, Tomlin’s your guy. But some of us want a Super Bowl every now and then”. He’s kinda not wrong when you look at it that way 😂

You can't be great forever. We've won plenty of Super Bowls recently. I got to attend XLIII and watch them win the big one live so I feel set for life honestly.

Pirates on the other hand...

WooHoo!!!

The Pittsburgh Steelers have finally landed a big-time receiver in a blockbuster trade.

Pittsburgh has acquired D.K. Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for their 2025 second-round pick and a swap of their sixth and seventh-round picks, Adam Schefter reports. The news comes several hours following a report from Schefter indicating that the Seahawks had lowered their requested trade compensation for Metcalf from a first-round pick to a second.

On top of that, the Steelers are giving Metcalf a five-year, $150 million extension to keep him in Pittsburgh for a long time. That $150 million deal earns Metcalf the largest contract for a wide receiver in terms of total value in NFL history, just ahead of Justin Jefferson at $140 million, though his $30 million average annual value (AAV) is tied for fifth at the position, per Over The Cap.

Metcalf, now 27 years old, was a former second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft — a 2x NFL Pro Bowler with six consecutive campaigns of 900+ receiving yards and five touchdowns.

I just hope they lock down the Offensive line. It has been.............offensively bad. If the QB is running for his life and the run game doesn't click.............having DK Metcalfe, Tyreek Hill, and AJ Green running routes won't help all that much.

Watched the report from the owners meeting in Florida this afternoon. It's possible Mason is our starting QB. Still talking to Rodgers. Even heard Joe FUCKO's name once. This would complete his employment at all AFC North teams but...............please god no. Said they will take a RB within their first three picks. It's apparently a RB RICH draft this year.
