I tried to housesit one of them one time.
I was supposed to catch him and cornered him in a hallway with all doors closed.
Went to grab him and he jumped over me and pushed off on my head and nearly hit the ceiling.
I immediately turned around and tried to stay taller and he ran between my legs like 4 times within 2 seconds.
He used to run up the walls and spring out into the middle of the room.

I never once caught him unless I used treats and usually he didn't even care about treats.

He was super athletic and insane, name was Spunk

My parents had one. Their vet told them you need to be careful with JRT's because they have ridiculous prey drive. So much so that the vet once had to treat a JRT that had jumped through, yes through, a second story window to chase after a squirrel.
 
Knew a couple that had a st Bernard and a jrt.

They were an unstoppable team.
Little guy would find a mouse or chipmunk or something somewhere but couldn't get to it. He'd go tell big guy and he'd lumber over, toss the wood pile, knock over a fence, pull some drywall out... whatever it took.
Little fucker would commence the murder(s) and then bring all the bodies to the big guy.
