Just shave it with a razor in the shower and be done with it. As long as you do it every day or two it's easy upkeep.

Yeah. That's definitely the key if you're going to shave it. If you don't do it daily then it's a bitch and you're more likely to get razor burn.

That's exactly why I don't do it. I'm not willing to spend that extra 5/10 minutes a day to do a good job and keep it smooth.
