I started listening, and while I like the guy, his crying was a bit much for Robbie (I'm going to start referring to myself in third person)

Without TQN's coveted follow, Ariel may as well just quit Twitter for good.

I don't know why Ariel is so fucking bent up. This is the best thing that ever happened to him. People that casually followed the guy are now going to war for him. People actually know his name because of this. Why the fuck are you crying? It's time for him to go to war against Dana, go balls out crazy on the attack. He's still got his sources, he's still got the whole rest of MMA, and now he has a bigger audience. So the UFC banned you in epic fashion? Would you rather be a minion that kinda gets out of line from time to time or would you rather be the man! and be the reporter who reports ANYTHING without fear of retribution, because, what more can Dana do to you? Take the bull and run and a million other cliches.

Really good point. He got his job back, and he would have gotten it either way, but history will show he got it back by crying for it, not by playing hardball.

I know the ban has been lifted but didn't the ban mean he couldn't even attend the events? My understanding with him being escorted from the building and banned, is that he was banned from the events themselves, and not just the special backstage access.

That most assuredly would affect his ability to do his job. It was just another in a long list of lame and vindictive moves by the butthurt UFC brass.

^ This is the Dana that needs to make a comeback. There's always two sides to the story.

I actually laughed when Dana says "your kids are gonna see that one day" and "it's all about respect". Thank God Dana has the proper mind set to not make disrespectful comments on camera and has done things that will only make his kids proud.

Right. But someone has to be that guy. We can't have MMA be taken over by expressionless CEOs. It will suck all the fun out of the promotion aspect.

Perhaps but it doesn't have to become extreme or the other does it? I'm sure there's capable business men who can create interest without constantly adjusting their comb-over and thick frame glasses I'm one that would love to see the only employees that matter front and center the majority of the time and that's the fighters. I can appreciate Danas position and I'm sure it's extremely difficult but he can fuck off with judging others about lack of respect and things that were said on camera kids might see.

Even before the waterworks started, Ariel basically admitted that he went back and forth between being a ridiculous fanboy that looked to uncle Dana for guidance and advice (which turned out to be bad) vs being a legit journalist who follows a code ethical standards, i.e. stuff he learned in journalism school at Syracuse.

But for press conferences and such, would you rather a guy like Dana, who will at least offer tidbits on the direction of the company, or someone like Dave Sholler, who will only give canned responses?

Dana's thoughts:

EGG is such a fucking crybaby. He's bagging on ariel for showing emotion yet he's whining and crying as much as ariel, just without the tears. Can't wait til he's gone. LOL at him worrying about what ariel's kids see, hello pot. What a horrible, self absorbed buffoon. Boohoo "he almost ruined a relationship that's been 15 years in the making", get the fuck out of here you nasally, fester looking pos.

I hear ya, seriously do....but why is it that these have to be guilty of the very things he's two options? I'm certain there are at least a handful of very competent, smart and charismatic people out there who could do Danas job well AND be able to create buzz similar to him without being guilty of the things he's accessing Helwani of. This topic took a quick turn though, I wasn't even suggesting Dana get replaced or anything just that for him to point the finger about respect and how one should conduct themselves on the record is rich.
